wenthur
While painting my engine the proper color I had to remove the elbow with the 3/8" bolt that attaches to the block.one slight twist and this intake fell off. Seems that water turbulence in this intake over the last 84 years had eroded the 3/8 bolt to tke size of a toothpick. After many fine words a drill and tap all was corrected. I thought this would be a good idea for others to check b4 a long trip of 20 or so miles. These are the unseen problems that can ruin a weekend outing. alsfarms
Hello Mike,We sure have fun with the old rigs we play with. It is hard to out-guess what age, water, weather, sun, lack of grease and oil will cause us problems and when these problems will arrive. I believe in Murphy...and at the worst time possible...it will happen. Even a restored car, in which we think we have done it all, will have a little gremlin sneak in on us and cause problems. Your council is good and thanks for the heads up.Alan
