  1. There are books in the library, and one can get a used upholstery machine really cheap on ebay, I have done my seats and now I am going to attempt the top next winter. When driving is out of the question. It really is not that hard, and why pay more for the upholstery than the car is worth. ONLY MY OPTION.
  2. the clip would be for the headlight for a 1924 touring THANKS MIKE
  3. working on my headlight and 3 of the retention springs are needed I have been looking on ebay on a regular basis and never found any, anyone have any ideas. MIKE
  4. 1930, original lights would be great, I just didn't know if I could find any, how about giving me a price for a good set, and I will ask my wife for a Christmas present. When I said I was not going to restore. I meant I just want the truck not so perfect that I would be afraid to drive it around on a regular basis.
  5. Any headlights will work I am setting this tanker truck up to use, It will not be restored but just fixed up to working condition. Any help would be appreciated. My address is Mike Wenthur 1211 Fitgerald Lane Hanford, Calif. 93230. Will be glad to pay shipping and whatever to get a this truck on the road.
  6. Looking for a set of headlights for '29 DB tanker truck, would love to find a set with brass rims, but any set will do.
  7. I got a 89 key from Meyers for $20 the phone # is in the newsletter.
  8. Well, another year and another Christmas parade. I didn't lite my sleigh heater, but heated brick in oven to 500 before we left and it stayed warm for the duration.
  9. Wish I would have thought of the potatoes, since I have an engine cooker, I really could put on a spread after the parade! Cook the meat while driving and letting mt potatoes cool.
  10. This heater brick is black and 4"x12"x2" and it fits in a drawer of the heater. I am guessing it is charcoal. but heating on stove top instead of in the oven sounds more efficient.
  11. Since I am too young to remember sleigh heaters, I heated the brick in the oven last year but for only an hour this year I was going to start earlier in the day and heat the brick to 400 for a couple of hours. I was just wondering if someone had a better way of using the sleigh heater.
  12. WE HAVE A PARADE TONIGHT AND I WOULD LIKE TO USE A SLEIGH HEATER I HAVE. HOW DO I HEAT THE CHARCOAL BRICK THAT GOES IN THE HEATER. LAST YEAR IT DIDN'T STAY HOT FOR LONG AND MY WIFE'S FEET GOT TOO COLD FOR HER AND I WANT HER TO BE COMFORTABLE SO SHE WILL CONTINUE GOING ON RIDES WITH ME IN THE "24 TOURING.
  13. The ignition switch on my '24 touring fell apart, I bought a new one on ebay minus the key, it is a clum 89, can someone help me with a key?
  14. Richard, At the risk of really sounding dumb, what is a robe rail?
  15. Dave, I would not touch the tranny, until you have been able to drive it awhile, a lot of things will get better with use, since the car has sat for 20 years condensation and surface rust, make things a little tight and use will loosen them up.
  16. Most glass shops are equipted to cut 2 types of safety glass for your windows. Temped: they cut normal glass, and send it out to be tempered. Normal safety glass which is 2 pieces of glass sandwiched together with plastic sheet inside. The glass is cut on both sides and then lighter fluid put in the cut and set a blaze, then plastic is cut with razor blade, and then the edges are polished. I personally prefer this type glass and it can be cut and polished at home if one desires.
  17. I also used counter top edging on my "24, It worked great but the new running boards I got from Meyers were about 1/8" too long with a little work made them work. The gray linoleum that Meyers sold, is great and they give many different sizes. I used the ones for the touring car, and have the extra's if anyone needs the smaller ones.
  18. I repacked my water pump with Teflon packing I got from the local plumbing store. No leaks first 20 miles or so, but yesterday a slight leak, I checked nuts and they were loose. re tightened and no leaks again. I had so much fun with the "24 flags a flying and waving to all. Can't wait until the "29 Fuel truck hits the road.
  19. I have had to recharge my battery on a 1924 touring car for the first time, the positive is hooked up to ground, I bought a North East electrical equipment bulletin 53 on eBay and it shows ground as negative. which is correct?
  20. Still trying to get my "29 Fuel truck on the road and need a carburetor would prefer a Stromberg U2 but will settle for a Carter BB1, will gladly pay your price with in reason. It is a shame to have this truck and not be able to run around town. Plan on using it to transport Diesel fuel for my manlift, The lift is too big to get into most gas stations that carry diesel fuel. Please help if possible.

  24. I live in a small town and today saw a "30 Db on the road, chased him down and had a nice talk with the man, He also has a 10 footer likes to drive his car as I do.
