dnt
I need to replace the fuel line from the fuel filter aft. Needless to say, it is no longer in production. Any tips on doing this replacement?
D-a-n-i-e-l
Have fun. But realy I would find a good hydrolic line shop and have them repair it with a high pressure flexable line, or if you realy want it stock looking I am sure that they could fab one that is very close. Vincent Vega
It can be done with a tubing bender and a flaring tool. The ends are not like brake lines. You will either have to buy the tool (very expensive) or have a shop do it.As Daniel said it can be done with high pressure hose. Try to keep the length to a minimum. (3 inches or so.) Just cut out the bad sections and replace with solid lines spliced with hoses.Dorman makes a replacement kit. It is a 12 piece of line with the proper OEM fitting on one and and a compression fitting on the other. This is a high pressure line from the tank to the filter. Don't use regular low pressure fuel line.Be aware that if you have problems there you most likely have problems with the lines that connect to the fuel pump. When you inspect those you will notice rusty brake lines as well. That spot inside the frame in front of the left rear tire is usually a rats nest of rusty lines.
