ThomasBorchers
I know of course the Olds curved dash but was there ever an Oldsmobile straight dash? Where could I see photos of such a car?
Thanks
Tom
Steve Moskowitz
TOM,
SORRY I HAVE NOT BEEN ON THIS SITE LATELY OR YOU WOULD HAVE HAD AN ANSWER SOONER. YES, OLDS MADE A STRAIGHT DASH FROM 1905-1907. ALSO, MANY CARS WERE CONVERTED TO STRAIGHT DASH AFTER HAVING FRONT END ACCIDENTS DUE TO THE COST. PICTURES CAN BE FOUND IN A VARIETY OF SOURCES INCLUDING THE STANDARD CATALOG OF CARS 1805-1942 AND THE CARS OF OLDSMOBILE BY DENNIS CASTEELE. THE OLDSMOBILE HISTORY CENTER CAN ALSO HELP YOU....FEEL FREE TO CONTACT ME DIRECTLY AT CLASSIC@SURFNETINC.COM STEVE MOSKOWITZ
ThomasBorchers
Thanks Steve.
I have the Standard Catalog and tomatos on my eyes... Haven't seen that they started with the straight dash later. Hmm, seems that there are just a very few original around, or?
Tom
Steve Moskowitz
tom,
my issue of the catalog shows a straight dash for the 1906 model year. it is a first printing edition and is on page 989. there are only a few straight dashes around. eldon mc cue in california is the curved dash olds club straight dash expert and owns at least one of these models.
