Mark Shaw
1961- 1965 (4000 - 4100 - 4300) Stamped on the crankcase at the front end of the block just forward of the right cylinder head. The engine number is readable to a person standing in front of the vehicle.
Guest imported_Thriller
If it is a Canadian car (can tell from the GM of Canada plate on the firewall), you can contact GM Canada's Vintage Services...it's a toll free number that I'll have to dig up. They won't necessarily be able to tell you how many were built with the same colour / options, but they will be able to decode exactly what it has for options, build date, and possibly where it was sold. The info I have is from '94, although I have contacted them more recently. 1-800-263-3777 - at that time they were open M-F, 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Eastern Time.If it is an American car, you would need to contact the Sloan Museum in Flint, MI to get similar research information.Good luck.
