wenthur
Just took an evening putt, and when I turned on headlight, the engine stalled, turned off lights and coasted in gear and car started again, and got home. Any ideas? checked to make sure the positive ground was hooked up. Still looking for ignition switch "24 touring.
Rusty_OToole
Sounds like the lights are killing the ignition. How did the headlights work? Could be either a crossed wire, or a short someplace.Or maybe the battery is dead and the generator does not supply enough juice for the lights and ignition at the same time? Guest backyardmachinc
Hello,Sound like you have a dead cell in your battery as the starter/gen. only buts out 8 amps. max and feeds that battery.when you turn on the lights there was not enought "juice" in battery to run the lights. backyard machinc. wenthur
checked the gen/started, putting out 13 volts, and now that I am driving the car 20 to 30 miles a week, lights seem to work ok. An hopefully tomorrow night I will make it thru the whole parade route without any happening other than waves and smiles.
