Guest Fr Mike
Hi John!Good to be in touch with you again. You are always in there helping out. Thanks for replying. Within the next few days I'll measure the OD of the filler tube. How is your '32 running these days? Finally got the Marvel carburetor working well on my '31. Have also restored & mounted the trunk. Best wishes!
Guest Fr Mike
Hi John!Got the '31 out this morning as the next few days are supposed to be rain-free. The OD of the oil filler tube at the top is 1 3/4". The cap appears to be made of aluminum. As I haven't yet figured out how to get photos on the forum, I will email a picture to you. Many thanks for looking! Mark Shaw
Mike, I found the rubber oil cap that was originally on my 1931 model 57. Please let me know if you want it.durcodude@comcast.net
jscheib
Mark,Interesting that the '31 had a rubber oil cap. The one on my '32 and others I have seen look just like the metal one Fr. Mike lost. I would be interesting in knowing more about the rubber one.John
Mark Shaw
John, The rubber cap is not original. It just fits the hole until the correct cap can be found. It is what I found in my car when I got it.
