89TC-16V Posted July 15, 2007 Share Posted July 15, 2007 the switches break the studs on the backside of the plastic and are like 1/2in long, i got 3/4 in or 1in ones and screwed them into what was left of the studs and my switches arent broken suck in anymore Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
ghostymosty Posted July 15, 2007 Share Posted July 15, 2007 The common fix is to glue the broken pieces back on (they will be on the floor somewhere or stuck in that gooey mess that is inside the console)and put longer screws into them. Just don't get long enough screws to go through the top of the outer trim! I've mentioned on here before that someone with a parts car and a console should come up with a bracket that the switches can mount on and that will hold them off the floor at the correct height to come through the trim plate.
