My best find was my 1960 Pontiac Star Chief Vista. I bought it in 1979 for $300. It got me started with my love for vintage cars. The next best was my 1967 Chevy BelAir. Hit hard in the right 1/4 but I drove it every day for years.

My Mom's 1968 Buick LeSabre. My Dad had a 1973 Mercury Comet I wouldn't be caught dead in....until I blew the motor in the Buick. However, Dad bought Mom a really cool 1971 Pontiac LeMans Sport coupe to replace the Buick, which became mine when I graduated High School!

Yes, NYC had Pontiac RMPs in 1976. The Catalina was used for Highway Patrol and the LeMans with a Chevy 6 cyl for precincts. Although Plymouth was used most often Chevies were used in 66, Fords in 69 & 70, Pontiacs in 76, Chevy for highway cars in 79, Chevy again in 87 and highway in 89. After the demise of the Gran Fury (M body) in 89, Chevy was used from 90-96, Then Ford for 97- present, with Chevies too from 00- present as well as Hybrids including Nissan Altimas, Ford Escapes and GMC Yukons. I can go on and on but there is only so much time. If in NYC be sure to visit the Police Museam. You can also go to the NYC website and click on Fleet Services Division for more info.

Go to Hubcaps, Hubcap, new and used Hub Caps at Hubcaps.com. Yours looks like 1975 to 1978.
Agreed. They were available in both 14" and 15"

Car is nice but the interior (dash and door panels) were done poorly. I liked the car but NOBODY knows about this car. Price IS high considering the car was redone but Jeff has more than that in the paint alone. Let me know how you do. I bought a 72 Coupe DeVille (70th anniversary) and decided to sell my 79 Coupe.

I am looking at a 1979 Cadillac "Islander". It is Black and Silver with a Black and Silver interior and has Islander emblems on the sail panel. The car was sold new from Raines Cadillac in Roslyn N.Y. It looks like a Coupe DeMarchand but is an islander. Does anyone know about this car?

No antiques out now, but we took my Wife's 97 Grand Cherokee (oldest daily driver) to Brooklyn to spend the day with her parents.
