1. Cool... Just in case no one wants to search for info... http://gilmorecarmuseum.org/ TT
2. Speaking of Western MI, do you guys do the "Mopars at the Red Barns" show? I attended for the first time last year (my wife's family have a summer place in the area). I did not yet have the TC then, but will be bringing it this year. Since the car is originally from Saugatuck (sold by Highland Chry/Ply, Grand Rapids), I figure it will be a bit of a homecoming for it... TT
3. If you still have a left (driver's side) cornering lamp, I'd be interested. If possible, a photo of the part would be great. Thanks, TT (ttorres@shelti.com)
4. Ahh, how I do love a challenge...upon closer examination, I see the 2 dimples where the holes are to go on the bottom of the fascia, I assume the third is centered on the rub strip of the bumper. I'll just have to see how clever I can be about securely attaching a removable plate. (thanks Redman for pointing that out!) TT
5. My '89 has never had a front plate mounted (originally a MI car where front plates are not required). Now that it is an IL car, a plate is (unfortunately) required in front. I want to use a stock bracket, but would like an option to drilling into a virgin front fascia. If anyone has a idea, or a decent bracket, I'd like to hear from you... When I show the '86 Laser XT, I remove the plate for aesthetics, since it's a black car the nasty holes don't really stand out, but on a yellow TC.... TT
6. Thanks for the good info and pointing out one of those little 'quirks' with a hand-built car...I'll look closer when's a little warmer outside and see if I can find any trace of glue on the lid put it back where it belongs! TT
7. I'm in Genoa, about 15 miles north of DeKalb. Funny too, I found the TC with a 'for sale' sign on it 1 block away from my house, and the year before, my brother and I picked up a '85 ½ Laser XT 2 blocks away...not too often you see a pair of very limited production Turbo Mopars that close to home - especially when 'home' is a very small town of only a couple of 'thousand or so... TT ps; Any anyone who can confirm the location of the plate, perhaps with a pic would be great...
8. I just found the brown builder's plate for my '89 loose in the glove box - the stamped metal plate which gives the vehicle's weight and tire pressures... Where is this supposed to be mounted? Thanks, TT
9. I should have mentioned I have the shop manual (for a '90). The flow chart for the brake stuff lost me.... Good info though - thanks... TT
10. My name is Tony and I'm a long time Mopar nut, turbo dodge fan and a new TC owner. I recently purchased a yellow '89 from the original owner, TII with a black soft top and ginger interior. The car is really in pretty good shape, considering it was a midwestern car it's entire life. With over 200k miles however, it does have some 'issues'. Most important of these are the brakes. The amber 'anti lock' warning light is on at all times and it has a very soft pedal (varies between soft to scary soft). Occasionally, the 'brake' warning light also comes on. The fluid level is good. The car had been sitting for a while when I came across it. Naturally with the amber warning light, I suspect the antilock computer. I'm planning on having the system repaired by a shop I trust, but I'd like to go in with a idea of what replacement parts to plan on and where to find them! Also, does anyone use Hagerty Insurance for their TC? I've got a '72 Demon 340 listed with them, and they say they "may" be able to add the TC, but would like to see some photos. I was a bit taken aback when the lady asked me "what makes this car collectable?" Any input welcome, TT
