  1. Hey, everybody. My wife and I just joined. The big draw for us was the touring events. We've been a member of the Lincoln club for years and we've enjoyed that aspect of it. My concern is that except for two 1979 Lincoln Mark Vs, all of our vehicles are modified to some degree. Are we eligible to participate at the National and Regional level?
  2. I got my issue in the mail a week ago. I immediately turned to your car. It's absolutely killer, everything about it is just right.
  3. Well, I drove up to St. Louis today to check on the '66 Riviera at Fastlane. Interesting thing about the color. Maybe I misread the data tag, but I thought the OEM color was Silver Grey Poly. Upon opening the trunk, the underside of the trunk lid is factory paint, and it's Turquoise Mist. Maybe someone more knowledgeable about Rivieras than me can shed some light on that. Overall, the car is OK. The paint job is very wavy, which is unfortunate because otherwise it's pretty decent and a striking color combination. The interior looks to be original and is in good shape. We really didn't have an interest in the car after seeing the wavy paint, so I didn't delve into it any further. IMHO it's overpriced by about $10K, especially if the paint mystery can't be resolved. They also had a '63 they just received. The '66 was a tight squeeze for me and the '63 was a no-go as far as interior room. I guess I'm going to have to try a '68 - '69 and '71-'72 and see how they fit. The quest continues.
  4. I agree, but the olive car doesn't have a/c and the blue car doesn't have bucket seats. I want both.
  5. Sent in my dues last week.
  6. Thanks for all tips guys.
  7. Ed, maybe the interior and engine pics didn't load, but they are there. The webs on the wheels are black, a little faded though. Tom, agreed on the paint. Looks more like Turquoise Mist.
  8. Here's the car. Looks the part of a real GS. Price may be a bit on the high side, but I really like the color combo and equipment level. 1966 Buick Riviera GS Tudor Hardtop at Fast Lane Classic Cars
  9. I have my eye on a '66 GS. What was included with the GS package and how can I determine if it's real?
  10. What about a reclining passenger seat? Either bucket or 60/40?
  11. What about '65 thru '69?
  12. Having sold my Riviera several years ago and regretting it, I'm scouting around for another. The better half says she would REALLY like a 6-way power seat on the passenger side. What years was this offered with bucket seats?
  13. I need to sell my Riviera and another car to make room for a new acquisition. This is a very nice, mostly original survivor '68. The car was purchased new in San Jose, CA, from Smythe Buick, and spent most of it's life there. This is a rust-free CA car. The color is Teal Blue Mist with black interior. Options include bucket seats, console, air conditioning, power windows, deluxe wheel covers, and AM//FM/stereo. One of the great plusses with this car is the huge amount of paperwork included. There is a 3" binder full of probably every receipt for every dollar ever spent on this car, the window sticker, bill of sale, insurance cards, state inspections, etc. In my 25 years of playing with cars, this is by far the most documented car I have ever seen. This car is a true survivor. With the exception of a repaint, this car is original. The paint is good, and very presentable, but not concours show quality. All the glass is fine, no cracks or chips. The bumpers are nice. The wheel covers are very nice. I had planned to put wheels on this car when I bought it, but the wheel covers are so nice, I couldn't see taking them off. The headlights work fine, which is a rarity on these years, and some of the T3 bulbs are still in place. The interior is remarkable. You can tell this was a garaged car. There are no cracks in the dash, it looks almost brand new. The seats and headliner are very good. The carpet is worn. Even the OEM floor mats are in place. The tilt wheel and power windows work fine, the air blows so cold it will run you out of the car. The radio seems to work fine, but the speakers need to be replaced. We drove the car down to Branson for a mini-meet a while back and it cruises down the highway as nice as you please. This is a great driving car. The car has 145K miles on it, but doesn't look it or drive it. The owner was VERY meticulous with service, as evidenced by all the receipts. There has been valve work, a new water pump, tune-up, numerous alignments, etc. This car has received excellent care. If you're looking for a very nice, unmolested car that you can show at cruises and drive with pride, and a car in a rare color with rare bucket seats, this is it. The car is located in Springfield, MO. The price is $8500 or a reasonable offer. I can send a ZIP file of numerous hi-res photos if you're interested. You can email me at jon442@aol.com if you're interested or have questions.

  15. I don't have cornering lamps. Too many cars, got confused. But the 7800482 switch didn't work. The mechanic said my switch looked totally different than that one.
  16. I need a turn signal switch for my '68 with tilt wheel. Does anyone have the GM part number (if they are still available?). Any leads on where to get one if they are not available from GM? I haven't had much luck locally.
  17. Hey, everyone! I recently acquired my '68 last fall, but had to put it in storage for the winter. We've had a rough winter (by our standards) here in southwest Missouri. I haven't even been able to take any photos of the car yet, the photo in the sigpic is the photo from eBay. Since then, I've had the car buffed and waxed and it looks a lot better. I've been looking for a '68 or '69 off and on for almost 10 years, but could only find high-point show cars or junk or a color I didn't like. Wanting bucket seats made the search that much more difficult. But I finally found this car. It has 145,000 miles and is all original except for paint. Most of the car is in very nice condition, but it is not a show car by any means. It was purchased new by a woman in San Jose, CA, and she kept it until she died. Her brother ended up with the car and he didn't want it, so he sold it to a used car dealer who in turn put it on eBay. I have a huge notebook that came with the car that has the window sticker, P-O-P, bill of sale, and tons of receipts for the car. I even have the selling dealer's license plate frames! Some of the options include bucket seats, a/c, deluxe wheel covers, and AM/FM stereo. Someday I hope to get it repainted, the bumpers rechromed, and the weatherstripping replaced. I'll also pull the engine and transmission and go through them. But I won't do much more than that, since I want to keep it as original as possible. It will never be a show car, since that would destroy too much of the originality. Hope to see some of you in Branson in May. Jon
