Do you have any pics? (morbid curiosity you know
)
-
It was nearly 80 yesterday - and dropped to the 30's overnight.
No wrenching here as the parts car went bye-bye last week and the scrap man paid me $65 for the hulk to boot!
-
Mine was a small allen wrench. I just loosened (did not completely remove) the screw and lifted the knob off.

and Father Guido Sarducci!

Might be the radio ground strap is loose and only giving you intermittent power.

Looks sweet Filbert!

Filbert,
I'm on it. I will have your pics up tonite. Oh, and your trim is on its way!

We also used KYB shocks and the springs are replacement units for a Daytona. The TC chassis is a modified Daytona chassis NOT a LeBaron chassis.
As for brake and suspension parts... my hubby is in the business and you definitely get what you pay for, and there is a much higher failure rate on Chinese-made parts. Your brakes and suspension are pretty critical components for your safety. Do you really want to trust anything made in that country with their quality control issues?

Are you talking just a pad slap or do you need more extensive work?

Monti,
Have you checked with Turbos Unleashed? They sell new turbos for our cars. I think ours was less than $600 after we sent in the core.

Not a problem, Lou. I've gotten some nice leather of ebay for the price of vinyl at an fabric store. That's the only reason I mention it. As a matter of fact, Guido's center armrest is sporting $10 worth of ginger leather off ebay. It's sooooooo nice.
-
Lou, you might also want to check ebay for some inexpensive brown leather....

Hey rofly,
I've talked to those folks and they are ASSUMING it is the flexplate. It's a big job, and like Lou says, you may have to pull engine or tranny or both.
-
Lou,
This is probably a stupid question, but have you checked out any automotive trim shops for rubber inserts or mouldings? Brought a sample and see if they have any to match?
-
The A-Pillar covers, yes. Sunvisors, no.

Dylan, the one thing to keep in mind with these cars is the ODOMETER is notorious for breaking, especially above 60,000, so accurate mileage on any of these cars is always questionable. From what I've picked up on these cars, this problem probably affects 65-70% of the cars out there. Both my cars have broken odo's.
If you take it for a test drive, take note of the mileage...see if it changes.

Hey JoAnn,
By door trim, I'm not quite sure what you mean.
Do you mean the body-coloured moulding that goes down the sides of the car to stop door dings? If so, I have the passenger's side door piece.
Do you mean the stainless steel strip that goes along the top of the door? I don't have any of that left for the doors themselves.

Check your front turn signal bulb as well. If either (or both) bulbs are out, the signal will not work on that side.
You might also want to remove the bulbs again (front and rear) and lightly sand the contacts with uber-fine sand paper to clean them up, re-insert bulbs and try again. I don't remember for sure, but you might have to completely re-install the light fixture before the bulbs will work. Sometimes that is how they complete the circuit (ground).
Also check for broken/loose wiring at the base of the sockets.

The joy of Dial Up.
Try doing one pic at a time, then replying to your own message and adding a second pic.... etc.

Hi JoAnn,
Check your private messages.

Hi JoAnn,
I don't have any speed sensors left.
I will check on the carbon canister and let you know

The wheels are made by a company called Fondmetal - they make high end wheels for euro cars. Contact them and ask them.

Y'all aren't the only ones irritated by this guy. He had no business buying the white TC off ebay in the first place. He didn't buy it because he wanted to fix it up or because he cared. He thought he could flip it and make a quick buck. Clearly he doesn't understand the market or people. It isn't very smart to come bragging that you got the car for only $1900 then try to flip it for $3 grand more to the same people you just bragged to.
Everyone here knew about the car. If someone wanted it, they would have outbid you for it on ebay. Except in its condition, it was only worth about $2500, not $4900. Did you REALLY think anyone would pay you an extra $3k for the privilege of keeping the car for 3 days and not putting a penny into it? And he was already sitting on another TC that he was trying to sell because he didn't have time for it.
And then the threats - "Buy my car or I'm going to scrap it". Kinda like "Buy my puppy or I'm gonna shoot it." Not for that price.
As a result of his GREED, not one, but TWO perfectly good driving TC's are now piles of junk.
Tom, do our cars a favour and stay away from any future TC's. Clearly you don't care about the car.
