The old ladys cars are still out there to be found!
A craigslist listing with a poor picture, simply stating 'excellent condition' ... I followed up with the ad, and found this....
ONLY 55,000 miles!
absolutely rust-free southern car. Had 7 years of dust covering it.
Unfortunately, it also had a full gas tank that was sitting for 7 years.

Hello all,
I have a 1971 LeSabre (350cui). I am looking to replace the factory single exaust with dual exaust. I do not want a loud muffler replacement...but rather a mild-toned sound. Perhaps something with a bit more throaty sound than the factory quiet sound. This is a cruiser, not a racer. Anybody have some suggestions/recommendations?
THANKS !

Hello!
I am in need of the hook-bolt that holds the spare tire, along with the wing nut. Any chance you have it???
Thanks alot.

THANKS TO ALL FOR THE SUGGESTIONS and ADVICE!
I ended up going with SMS. (that place in PA as someone suggested is still in business, but didn't have the materials I needed) SMS had the factory original cloth for my bench seats in the 1971 Buick LeSabre. $85 bucks a yard is steep, but it will now look as it did off the assembly line!

I am about to use SMS Auto Fabric to purchase cloth and vinal upholstry for my 71 Buick LeSabre.
Anybody out there have an alternative company that I can check out??
SMS Auto Fabric prices are VERY HIGH. Any help is appreciated. THANKS!

Lookin' sweeeet Adam!
the pics kind of reminds of another car you did! de-ja-voo? <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
Quick update: new rally rims adorn the LeSabre. Had to get a new asbestos gasket for the automatic choke well. The high heat sealant didn't hold. They are not easy to find, if you are having trouble finding one for your Centurion, I have a guy in GA that can send a gasket sheet of asbestos that you can cut to fit.

Used drivers side rear tail light assembly.
This assembly includes the tail light, brake light, and reverse light. Lenses are NOT cracked.
Horn ring is rubber (black in color) in good shape, no rips or tears. Also comes with the original horn ring spring.
Best offer.

Adam,
yes, I still have the LeSabre. I haven't put more than a hundred miles or so on her. She hasn't seen any rain since I bought her. Still looking for a nice set of ralley's for her. I'm joining the Centurion forums you recommended. I will post a want ad in there for rims. Keep an eye out for me, will ya?
Thanks - J.R.

Adam,
nice Wildcat bro!
I had a '67. I really miss it.
I'd really like to see you work some of your magic under the hood (like you did with the '71 LeSabre). Good luck with it.

Hey Fellas....John Rocklein here. I am the proud new owner of Adam's 1971 LeSabre. You were correct Brian, the ride from Missouri to Virginia was wonderful! Route 64 East all the way. The car performed flawlessly, and I kept it at about 65MPH from St. Louis, to Chesterfield, VA (approx 825 miles). Suprisingly enough, I got about 18MPG!! Adam supplied me with some extra radiator hoses, and antifreeze just in case! 13 1/2 hours later, I backed the car into the garage where it has been sitting ever since. You all will be happy to hear that the car will be taken care of better than I take care of myself. The garage is heated, and the car sits on carpet! I managed to find a set of NOS 1971 Virgina licence plates that will soon adorn the car.
Future plans include Buick Ralley Rims, and possible replacement of the cloth interior. I have found a local shop that can replace the cloth with original materials. But, the price was a bit high, so for now I think I will try to stay with whats already there. When the Buick Nationals come to the eastern seaboard, you can be sure to see me there with the car.
I'll be sure to post photos of any updates with the car.
Thanks again Adam! JOHN

took her over to my buddys house where we put her up on the lift and dropped the gas tank. What a mess. The gas was red in color, and smelt terrible! I thought the gas would protect the inner lining of the tank, but it just made it rusty. after a large amount of phone calls, it became quickly apparent that I was not finding a new or new/remanufactured tank for this C-Body Buick. A few more phone calls to local motor-heads lead me to a guy about 30min away that cleans, and coats tanks. ($125..not bad)
