  1. Are replacement carpets available for the faded to pink [tan] interior in my black 88?
  2. Welcome to the forum! Please tell us more about your Reatta.
  3. "A gentleman does not motor after dark" Lucas, prince of darkness.
  4. Randy, no A/C but they do need a heater. Hot bricks under the laprobe was the standard "in the day" LOL Kenny
  5. Ask your A/C shop about an R-12 drop in replacement like MAXI FRIG 12A or FREEZE 12. No mods or parts to buy, and as cold as R-12.
  6. look at www.eastwoodco.com for all sorts of rust killers, paints, and tools. Great catalog, excellent products. Hope this helps, Kenny

    Tire Roll Call

Does anyone even bother with speed rated tires on their reattae?
  8. How good is the connection between the sensor and the computer? Corrosion does nasty things to electronics.

    Tire Roll Call

I have four BFG Traction TA's in 215/65R15. Ride is ok, not too noisy. Last a long time. Will replace them with 225/60 or235/50 for lower profile, better looks, and improved handling. The 235/50s might be too wide to run on the stock rims. Read the customer reviews, especially if you are concerned with ride quality! Lower profile tires generally give a harsher ride, but some are worse than others. If you are restoring the car to show you need to use the OEM tires in the stock size on the stock wheels.Knowing how you will use the car will help you decide what tires you need.
  10. I'm probably wrong, but is the starter hanging up on the flexplate and not releasing cleanly?
  11. Didn't see the winky thing... too much champagne [it's a long story]. My other car was a 63 1/2 falcon wagon. Ex had a vega once, wanted to drop a 454 into it. LOL Kenny
  12. Gee, thanks Vince, I'll call reattadudes.
  13. I get the impression that many of our beloved Reattae surrived on benign neglect for most or their lives. Who knows what they went thru before we got our hands on them. All we can do is try to undo years of neglect.
  14. Where can I buy a replacement hood ornament for my black 88? Does anyone redo these badges? Mine is in sad shape, faded and most of the gold gone. Any leads appreciated, thanks, Kenny.
  15. The least you could do is paint the lugnuts silver. LOL Kenny
  16. Hi, KEEP THE CAR. Buy a good cover for it, Barney Eaton sells really nice ones that actually fit. Other people also sell covers and about anything else you can think of for your reatta. There are lots of new owners on this board, you are not alone. Tell the husband to sell one of his cars instead of your baby. Kenny
  17. Barney, thanks for the info, I will not try this with my water pump pliers.
  18. How many quarts of heavy duty DOT-3 brakefluid do I need to buy to properly flush the system on my 88? Is this a job to leave to the pros? I know it hasn't been done in a long time. Thanks!
  19. 2seater. thanks for the straight answer. I was looking at cam, head work, and larger injecters for a solid 200hp. I understand turbos work well at about 7:1 cr.
  20. Thats a little more like it. maybe it says Buick across the tail lights too.
  21. Kits, at least they self cancel with the turn signals! LOL kenny
  22. motor first, than extras. If you are not breaking parts you're not making enough power. 6-speed manual will hold lots more hp than stock auto.
  23. Select 60's were specially badged cars used as incentives for buick dealers. only 60 per year, one each to the top 60 dealers nationwide. Lots more info available from the club experts, especially Barney. Read the judging standards, they tell more than I can. enjoy your reatta!!!
  24. I've been reading back posts for about a week now and see turbo projects and blower projects but no old fashioned hot rod projects. Did anyone try the cam, roller rockers, hi-comp piston thing? We seem to have a source for custom prom chips so that should not be a problem. How much horsepower is the stock transaxle good for anyway?
  25. My local front end shop says I have a bad bearing in the right front wheel. Quoted $800 to fix, with $250 for hub. Old school parts house has hub for $86. My question is if any special tools are required or can I just use a steering wheel/hb puller? Anything else I should know before I tear into this? Looks like a straight forward job, but looks can be deceiving! THANKS.
