  1. trying to post a picture of disk and pressure plate.
  2. I got a 10 inch NOS pressure plate for a 41 Desoto on Ebay, I'm pretty sure the Truck originaly was supposed to have a 10 inch clutch. I also picked up a NOS 10 inch disk on ebay for a D14 , D19 but the disk is only 1 1/2 inch wide on the facings and the pressure plate is 2 inches wide , I'm thinking this should work anyway but would like to get the right disk if it's not. Your probably right about the other years that fit. Before I figured out that the truck should be a 10 inch clutch I found a place to get a 9 1/4 inch disk and pressure plate so I have those also.(Rochester Clutch and Brake)Excellent to deal with, good prices and fast on the shipping, I found out about them from a post on this site but don't remember how I found it. For anyone interested the flywheels already have both sets of holes drilled and taped for both size pressure plates. Thanks for the replies, still trying to find out about that facing size though.
  3. What is your reason for switching to 12 volts? If it's for better headlights, I converted the headlights on a 36 dodge to 6 volt halogen motorcylce bulbs with a 7 inch halogen conversion kit. I also have a 6 volt alternator on the truck. cleaning up the grounds and contacts on the lights will work wonders also.
  4. I have a 1936 modle LC pickup. The clutch that is in it now is a 9-1/4 inch. Vintage auto parts lists a 10 inch clutch used for this truck. What is the correct clutch size supposed to be? While I'm asking does anyone know a good place to get a clutch disk. The spline seems to be the hard thing to match. Thanks
  5. Wanted, 5 1936 Dodge hubcaps, 35&1/2 are the same size. inside diameter has to be 7 inches on opening.
  6. Does anyone have a pickup with a spare tire lock? I'm also looking for information on the plate that holds the spare tire in position.Mine is missing. My original build ticket states that the 1936 Dodge truck I have came with an optional spare tire lock. Anyone have a picture of one or know where I can find one?
  7. There's a gear in there you probably either stripped a tooth or the shaft broke inside. It could have broken something on the stainless steel strap that rolls out. Did you try pushing gently back on it to see if it would catch again? On my 36 dodge you just have to take the screws out under the top piece on the dash to get at the mechanism. It's bolted in with 2 bolts and held to the windshield with 2 screws. Usually what breaks is the stainless steel part from excess wind pressure buckling it when you have it open a long way. My truck has a handle that is held on with a set screw. The cars usually have a fold up handle with a screw in the center you can see when the handle is opened. remove the screw and pull the handle off the spline to remove the handle. The mechanism is the same only the handles are different. If you need more help email me.If you can find one with a broken strap you could drill the rivet out of yours if your strap is good and use the other mechananism with your strap. Just re-rivet .
  8. Just in case anyone is interested I have an electric fuel pump installed on my 36 dodge pickup. I have a switch under the dash that I turn on to just prime everything and after starting I just turn it off and let the origial fuel pump takeover. You can have both installed. It makes for faster starting especially if the vehicle sits for extended periods. You should have a switch or some other safety device to shut off the fuel in emergency anyway. The electric fuel pump I have has filter screen in the inlet hole on the pump. If your tank is dirty you may have some blockage there eventually so be aware of that also. If your mechanical pump diaphram fails ( I had one go bad) the electric pump will keep pumping if it is on and pump fuel out of the broken mechanical pump on top outside the engine. This is the second electric pump I have on also. The first one the rubber bellows inside got a leak. I found out after finding a new one that I could have just got parts for the old one from the manufacturer.
  9. Looking for an original 1936 Dodge Pickup truck seat restorable condition.
  10. I'm looking for an origial seat for a 1936 Dodge Pickup. If anyone has a picture of one I would appreciate it if you could post it. I have a seat now but it is not an original seat.
