Is anyone planning on heading out to the Woodward Dream Cruise this year? I saw just one other TC there last year, but I had heard after the fact that a few had shown up. For those that don't know, the cruise is Saturday, August 16th this year. It heads up historic Woodward avenue for 16 miles starting at 8 Mile in Ferndale and turning around out in Pontiac. I live out in Ferndale, but I usually take the TC up to around 14 Mile or so and take in the sights for a while before heading back down to Ferndale to hang out around here. Welcome to the club! There's been a resurgence of TC's in Southeast Michigan lately (I'm located in Ferndale now). Not sure of a good mechanic near you. There may be some other members that could help you more with that. I think this board is your best source for parts. You can also check out Larry at TCParts.com (I think he only sells to TC club members now). What kind of parts do you need and what kind of work needs to be done? My wife remarked that it was a shame the hard top was on since it was such great weather for top down cruising. She also asked if anyone replied to check where they heard about the wine fest from (she did the advertising for it, so she's always curious).

Well, It seems like at latest count there were at least 4 TC's there this year. That's the same count I figured from last year, though last year Atheneium had 2 there. I have a bit of work to do on mine as well. The ABS light has been coming on randomly lately and the oil pressure gauge conked out on me. I still need to tackle my center console switches one day. That could be a good fall project.

Took the TC out to the Wine Festival at Meadowbrook Music Theater in Rochester this weekend (Sunday) and spotted a red TC with the hard top on. It seems like I've run into more TC's this summer than I have my whole life in these parts! Was this anyone from the club?

I kept my eyes peeled around Maple and Woodward, but I didn't spot you. I was probably there while you were out cruising. Don't talk about parking them yet! I'm hoping to be able to head out at least thru October! :-)

Good to see another Metro-Detroit TC owner here! We almost have enough to make an impact if we all showed up somewhere together! We spent most of the afternoon around 14 and Woodward and spent the evening down in the Ferndale area. Hopefully some of our paths will cross sometime in the future. - Steve

I kept my eyes open, but didn't see any other TC's while we were down there. It was a beautiful day during the afternoon. Probably some of the best daytime weather we've had for the cruise for a few years.

I know that mine was one of the ones you saw last year. I seem to run into you driving around town every once in a while, but yet we always seem to be heading opposite directions. I usually don't make it up to Maple during the cruise, but maybe I'll make the trip that way this year. I know what you mean about the top. Definitely more distinctive with the hard top, but the weather is supposed to be great this year. Fingers crossed. I out a few weeks ago and saw a burgundy TC parked on the side of Merriman between 8 and 9. Don't know if that owner is a member here. You're the only local guy that seems to post.

I thought it might have been you! You're the only TC owner I know in this area so far. We thought about chasing you too, but we were ALSO running late! Hopefully the weather will get a little nicer soon!

Took the TC out for the first time this season last Saturday (4/30) and ran into another yellow TC heading West on 6 Mile Road just East of Beech Daly. Gave and received a wave, but just wanted to give a shout out to whoever that was if they post here! (I've only seen a few TC's in our area). Happy motoring fellow Metro-Detroiter! Steve

I've read the information posted on that page before, but I had forgotten that they did have some products listed there. I'm really looking for something more heavy-duty to clean the vinyl top though. The instuctions on the TC page say use car wash and then protect it. I've tried Meguiar's Gold Class wash on the top and it didn't seem to clean it as well as it really needs.

Have a few questions about some detailing products. My ginger top is really dirty (it's been that way since I got the car). Does anyone have any product/technique recommendations to get it clean? Also, any ideas what products are safe to use on our fondmetal wheels? I've looked over the myriad of bottles at the store and don't want to grab one that may cause damage. Slyrose - I can't believe I missed you too. I spend a lot of the day in the Ferndale area! I don't think I ever headed North on Woodward through Pleasant Ridge though (you were right on the border of the two cities). So there were at least 5 TCs in the cruise. Pretty good representation! I saw the smart cars. I can imagine it would be intimidating to be on the Autobahn in one! Those things are tiny!

Mine's actually Yellow/Ginger/Ginger, but you were looking from a distance! <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> Wouldn't your commute be faster if you just took Southfield or Greenfield From 696 to Maple (direct north/south roads)? Traffic probably moves better on Woodward though. And it's more scenic. If I ever spot you, I'll be sure to wave. I wonder if the one you saw in Livonia was me as well? That's where a lot of my family lives.

Dang. I wish I would've noticed you! Sorry the police did though! They were definitely out in full force. I live down in Ferndale so I'm out in that area pretty often. I've seen a TC a couple times on Mound near 12 mile on my way to work (burgundy, if I recall), but I don't see too many around these parts.

I made it down there in my yellow 89 for a bit on Saturday. Didn't see any other TC's but at least a couple people recognized what the car was. I was heading down Woodward to the grocery store on Sunday and a guy in an Allante commented on it while at a stoplight as well!
