OK, I'm showing how unfamiliar I am with what's under the hood of my car. I'm having problems determining what/where the modulator is. I've bought one from the local parts store, $13.00, and am ready to put it in. Just can't figure out where it is. I know F14Crazy said it's kind of underneath the rubber tube between the air filter housing and the throttle control. I've looked and am clueless. I believe it's low and towards the front of the transmission housing. Am I warm? I think it's the original. It's a large grey object with a tube coming out of with a flexibe hose. How'm I doing? Sorry guys.

Thanx guys. I'll check the lines and if necessary install the modulator.

Hello all. I have a '89 coupe with 41k that is shifting hard from 1st to 2nd. It seems to me that I read in an earlier post that someone had a similiar problem that was resolved by installing a new modulator. Does that sound right? Sorry to sound lame but where is the modulator located and how hard of a job is it to install. thanx..
