  1. Supper is still popular, as mentioned, in Virginia; at least, here in the Valley. When I lived in Fairfax County (outside DC) you never heard the term, but, then again, that place is considered "yankee" by most of the state. "Dinner" out here is the lunch meal.
  2. Thanks for the location info; I bought a 56 Va. sticker from a man who reproduces old stickers and he said it should go in the top center, which sounded odd. I have a 55 Ford panel and wanted to put this "new old" sticker in the correct location. Thanks, Paul PS: Just incase anyone else is interested, or may have an old sticker wanting to be reproduced, his website is: www.roberthoyt.net
  3. I have to believe it's about money. Remember, Virginia has a billion $ surplus but is going to reinstate the car tax. Thank you Governor Warner. Dittos to Silver Ghost and Raftel for your comments. The cure will be worse than the ailment...gives the police open season on Antiques. They can go after the clunkers now with existing laws. I also agree the mustard color on that plate is hideous...guaranteed to look ugly on your vehicle no matter what color paint is on it! Trivial point: I wonder why the Va. mustard color Antique plate is the only customized plate not available through the internet site? I emailed them a year ago about it.
  4. I would oppose any change in the current law....the bad guys will still abuse the distance limits, plus it would give the police another reason to clamp down on all. Just like gun control laws...they are well intentioned, but the bad guys don't obey laws anyway.
  5. Does anyone know the location on the windshield for a '56 Virginia inspection sticker? I have been told that the top center is correct, but I wanted to be sure before adhering the sticker. Thanks in advance. Q; Does anyone know of a site which would possibly show pictures of Virgina vehicles from this era?
