    Wheels

I would like to know what the measurment is on the wheel lugs. (1990) 5x ?. I would like to upgrade my brakes and that involves larger wheels 16" Have a chance to pick up some 16" Buick Regal wheels. They are 5 X 115mm. Would they work? JON...
  2. I prefer 10 W 30 Because I want the higher oil pressure when the engine is hot and producing HP. 10w is thin enough for cold starting. But 5 W 20 is not thick enough for high temp. One other thing, 5W will run off of a cylinder wall a lot faster than 10W will.
  3. Thank you.. I am trying to find a place that can refinins some dash parts. JON...
  4. Could some one tell what the correct terminology is for the chrome like coating on the interior dash plastic? And maybe how it is put on?

Has every one seen this picture?
  6. Sorry, Pic did not download.
  7. Well then I am sorry, I was under the impression that the BCA controled all of the shows, not just the nationl and regional. So then we need 12 Reatta's to have a class of our own at a local event,Correct?
  8. I feel very disappointed with the BCA after attending several shows and having to compete against a variety of different Buicks, Pontiacs, and Oldsmobile's. When you have to compete against a Pontiac Firebird (performance) with a Reatta (luxury) it become very dishearting. I was told at a recent show, when I asked why there was no class for Reatta's, "Not enough cars". Not a good answer. If there was a class for them there would be alot more entered. Why in the great wisdom of the BCA does this continue? Why is there not a class for Reatta's?? After being involved with the AKC (American Kennel Club) for 35 years+, showing dogs, putting on shows, and judging dogs shows, I have come to the conclusion that, even with the inept leadership at the AKC they at least got their classes correct. Of the 140+ different breeds, each breed has separate classes. (Also separated by sex, which we won't get into) Each breed has male and female classes for, "Puppy Dog", "Novis Dog", "Bred by exhibitor Dog", and "Open Dog". Do the math and figure out the total amount of classes. They still manage to put on a one day show and have up to 2000 dogs entered. Now granted all classes normally do not have dogs entered in them. So the number is less. BUT, That is my point....... If there are classes for Cars that are not entered, What difference does it make? It certainly would be no skin off of anyone's nose if that happened. After all the "Reatta" is the only hand made auto ever made in the USA. We certainly should have a class for that, if nothing else. Also, The BCA should give us a class for the only two seater ever made by "Buick".

  10. Thank you for the information Guys. One more thing, What's in the larger one?
  11. What if you only changed the EProm and not the EEProm?
  12. What would be the conquences of changing the EEProm in the BCM with one from another car? Would it keep the Vin # from the second car?
  13. And they are square not round or oval shaped. Also I have the address some where of a Company that makes the portholes that stick on. They are very high quality and are metal with really good chrome. Anybody want it contact me @ jclabree@comcast.net
  14. Gentlemen; The person in question is............ Davea2574, or in real life one Stacy Ward.
  15. There is a seller on E-Bay that is selling Reatta/Riveria parts at extremly high prices. When I pointed this out to this person they became very defensive an beligerent with me. Especialy when I pointed out to them that Reatta's don't have back seats, so the rear seat belts that this person had on E-bay, were not from a Reatta. If anyone wants more information about this person, please contact me.
  16. Thank you one and all. Now I understand. I have had a ECM chip reprogramed and was worried that the mileage was stored on it, as it is from another car with unknown mileage I thought when I install it that my mileage would change. JON...
  17. So, If I change the computer fo any reason, I will be changing the mileage readout. Correct? One more questio. Is it stored in the chip or in the main part of the computer?
  18. Where is the milage stored? What I mean is if I change the ECM will the readout read the milage from the car it came from? Or is it stored in the readout itself and won't change?
  19. Thanks Barney, so far my 90 coupe has developed none of those leaks. [color:\\"black\\"]
  20. Barney; Where is the most common area for leaking?

    Brakes

You need a tool to turn the caliper back in. Donot try to force it The tool is cheap and any auto parts store should have it.
  22. OK, If no one knows where to get one fixed. Does anyone have a working one for sale?
  23. I recall reading a message on this site about someone having a CD Player repaired. But I can't find it with the "Search" Can one of you experts steer me in the right direction? Thanks in advance. JON...
