Is there a body tag somewhere?

Good friend is trying to figure what model Packard he is trying to buy. It's a 1927 (no pics) open car. How can he/we tell exactly what model it is, like 426,526 etc.?

Quite honestly after reading back over all the posts in this thread I'm not sure anyone can really define what exactly a true Phaeton is. It just seems so open to interpretation.

My goodness, it appears there is a lot of interpretation in this area that isn't very easy to interpret.

I found this definition on the Packard club website. That Ebay Packard appeared to be a real Phaeton by this definition. http://packardclub.org/ If the link doesn't take you straight there just go to the body types and you'll find it there.

I noticed the one Ebay had some kind of divider window right at the top of the back rest of the front seat, it divided the front from the back. It was supported and within a really nice fancy chrome structure that looked as if it could swing back and forth. Really fascinating, the seemingly endless different things to each of these glorious old Packards is so neat to me.

I don't know if it's the same one but there is one in Hemmings for $115K! Man, that seems way higher than what you guys are stating. I thought a #2 condition 1930 Packard 740 coupe was in the $65K-$80K range.

I was just curious about the start up procedure for a Packard 12 if it was any different than the 8. I was watching the 35 Packard 12 that sold on Ebay and wondered how you start that thing. Anyone know the correct way for a novice like me?

I'm installing a new 6 volt battery in a car with 6 volt system. Does the big thick braided looking cable hook up to the positive terminal or negative? I'm guessing positive terminal because it's a positive ground system, am I right?

Trying to get a ballpark figure for the worth in today's economy for a 1935 12 club sedan that recently scored 93 out of 100. The car is really a spectacular example of a Packard 12.
