It was a scam, I saw it listed in several places for that crazy low price.

1967 Riviera GS - $7,000 (Lyman)
1967 Buick Riviera GS
condition: good
cylinders: 8 cylinders
drive: rwd
fuel: gas
odometer: 115000
paint color: grey
size: full-size
title status: clean
transmission: automatic
type: coupe
He replaced cracked exhaust manifolds (not available, 1 year only) with top quality T/A performance shorty headers, ceramic coated. He did not finish hooking everything back up. Prior to replacing the manifolds it ran and drove fine (I road with him).
He replaced rear lower arms, and springs, new locator bar bushings, new body mounts, steering box and pump, new starter and flywheel, brake lines. New Bilstien shocks all around. Aftermarket sway bars, new tires. The new dual exhaust system is in the box, all original parts including "Star Wars" air cleaner are included. To drive, it needs the transmission cooler lines connected, the heater hoses, and the exhaust hooked up.
My brother passed away in 2020 and it is stored in his heated, and air conditioned garage. It is on his lift where he left it.
Please; if you are reading this ad the car is still available! -

Seems like a bogus sale to me. More and more I think these auctions are a sham.
what do you mean by it being a bogus auction? Do you think the seller didn't get paid the amount that was bid? he is on FB, and is certainly acting like it is a real sale, and is quite happy with the new record price. His reserve was set at $160k. All it takes is two bidders with deep pockets that really want the car for this to happen (and sometimes some added booze). :>)

"71 GS" aka Brian, has owned both 71-72's and a 65, and he is 6 ft +, check with him. I think he moved the seat back in his 65.
#71GS.

No Stage 1 designation in 1971 for the Riviera.
If the engine is SF it is from 1970, not 1971, and it is not a 1970 Stage 1 engine (SS code), but rather the standard 370hp 4 bbl engine from a full size Buick. All 1971 455's start with a "T". TA would be for the Riviera GS.
1970:
- LeSabre Custom 455 - SF
- Wildcat Custom - SF
- Electra 225 and 225 Custom - SF
- Riviera - SF
1971:
- Skylark Custom - TO,TD
- GS - TB,TD,TR,TS
- LeSabre & LeSabre Custom - TC,TO,TR
- Centurion - TR,TA
- Estate Wagon - TR
- Electra 225 & Electra 225 Custom - TR
- Riviera - TR
- Riviera GS - TA

1971 Buick Riviera (2 door), I have owned since 1982 she has been garaged for the last 30+ years. I restored her back in 1987 and put on approximately 100 miles a year, if that. Original 455 4 barrel engine, the transmission was rebuilt in '87 as was a valve job. Stainless steel exhaust, a/c, electric windows, Buick wheels, custom stereo ( I have the original one), just time to let her go. Serious inquiries only,

I was second in line to go look at this morning, behind a guy who was going last night. Now marked Pending and I didn't hear from Seller this morning, so guessing that guy is buying it. Owner had it for a couple of years, it was running and driving, but had very old tires.

1964 Dual Quad Riviera - $18k (CDN?)
https://www.kijiji.ca/v-classic-cars/winnipeg/1964-buick-riviera/1669304340
This rare Riviera is one of only 2133 units sold with the upgraded 7 liter Wildcat engine in 1964. Great first restoration car. Needs some body work and a bit of TLC. No creaks when opening doors or trunk. Was running when parked several years ago. Battery is very dead. Selling on behalf of mother in law. Car is in Winnipeg but I am in Calgary. Once I have a few interested buyers I'll fly out to show the car in order of response.

Wow what a treasure trove of great meet photos. Loved all the non-restored patina vehicles. There were quite a few.
Thanks Chris for posting link and big thanks to your friend Randy.
You are welcome Jason. And if you look under the "Buicks" folder on Randy's website, you will see photos from our WA Buick Open for many years as well as photos of Buicks from other events, including the 2007 BCA Nationals in Bellevue WA.

My "new to me" 65 Gran Sport. I have paid for it, but it hasn't been picked up by the shipper yet, but I am still considering it mine now. :>)
This car was a frame off restoration, started the work 1992, finished in 2000 (two different shops). Same owner since 1986 or so. Numbers and colors matching. Fully factory loaded with nearly every option that was available. Sold new in Evansville IN, and that is where I purchased it from. Was listed on Facebook Marketplace.
Needs a little freshening up again, but very good bones and real nice looking car. I hope to be able to see it in person soon, lol.
