  1. You are probably right about being modified, my current set-up is not welded. and the nut with notches had to be reproduced when we did the rest as we could not find a replacement for the original. Hope we don't have a hard time getting this one off. If worse comes to worse I guess we can cut the exhaust pipe and weld our pipe onto the replacement. Although we are pretty sure we can get it off.

  2. Didn't get the air cleaner. Didn't need that part, even though the guy I got it from probably has it. All I needed was the Exhaust manifold itself. The guy I purchased it from has the whole truck, a 1927 Dodge Brothers, Flat Bed, and is selling it as is. Says it's complete (except for the manifold). Said he would part it out. I can get info if you need anything.

I would post a picture of the manifold, but don't remember how you do it. : )

  3. I may have one! Will have to sort through my stuff from our restoration, but as I recall, I may have one (used) still in the shipping box that I got my replacement for our restoration. I don't remember if it was working or not, but I will see if I can dig it out.

  4. Actually the trans was rebuild as part of the restoration. The restoration was in 1999. The car only has about 6000 miles on it since the restoration and the tranny has been serviced at least three times during this time period. I have had problems with it for some time, heating up during slow, cruising speeds and parades and leaking problems. The tranny shop I used has not been able to figure out where the leak is actually coming from. It seems to leak when it sits in the garage. I also noticed that when I drive it slow, cruising, the fluid seems to leak (expand) and leak and I end up over heating and getting lots of smoke when the fluid hits the hot parts of the engine.

Just don't know???? Recently, when I was going to go to a local gathering (our Donut Derelicts group) it would not engage, seemed to slip in all gears. I finally got a little reverse, after letting it warm up and adding some fluid, but so far I have not been able to drive it. I am planning on taking it to the shop in January.

  5. @Machinist _Bill

Dang! Looks like you really know what your doing!

Again, THANK YOU all for the the help. I am sure I will be on here again, we all know that this is an on going venture, never ending, keeping these jewels going. At least, now I can relax a little and put some time into my 59 TBird. Got to get that tranny fixed!

Merry Xmas to all and hope we all have a great New Year!

  6. Yes they are, as the old saying goes, "There is one born every minute" or is it second....

The way they get your email is that they break into someones email account. Once they have your long on they send out the emails to all the people you have on your address book. They break into many email accounts and do it to many people at the same time. The person who's email account is violated has a hard time taking corrective action because the first thing they do when they break into your account is change the Log-on so that you can get back into your account.

    What a scam!

  7. Hello all, I'm Juan (TJ), a retired Cop from Cali. I've been around for awhile, but have never introduced myself, other than making a few posts here and there.

I have a 59 Thunderbird, a 27 Dodge Brothers 4screen which actually belongs to the Sheriff's Department where I was employed, but since I was the one that got it restored about 20 years ago, I now take care of it, show it and pretty much am responsible for it. We, my son and I have also had a 73 Mach I Mustang, an 85 Mustang and we have a 68 VW Bug.

Anyway, thanks for all the help through the years!

    Juan
