cool cars!
one of the cars i learend to drive on was a 1956 Chrysler Crown Imperial ! ! !
this was a great car, black with black and pink interior. the powerstering was unreal in this thing, turn it with your little finger with no effort while it was sitting still. i remember that push button transmission like it were yesterday.

THAT IS ONE SUPER CHALLENGER !!!
my brothers Challenger had a story that went like this.we were told that it was a preproduction Challenger that had been taken around to the race tracks to promote them. he bought the car in like 1977,remember they were just cars back then and we used it for fun (you know what i mean). in the early 80s he restored the whole car and did a big engine build up , it was the baddest car in town but the fun was then gone. it was so bad knowone would play with him and he was to afraid of braking something so it was then sold. (i have know idea of where it would be today).
i do remember that all the locks on this challenger were fake ! you could stick a house key or a knife in any of them and they would unlock ! ! !
it also seems to me that the six pack was a mechanical set-up and i think the production cars worked off of a vaccum set-up ( one way or the other).
i think he let one get away that could be priceless today.
thanks,

DIZZ, i sure do remember the (WVa Hemi) he is from the same town that the SS/AMX is setting in ! ! !
man this is fun,i feel young again. the only bad thing is that twenty years ago we were all at the Drags , not setting in front of a computer leaving post about them HA,HA......
thanks,
matt
-
DIZZ,
i'm glad you liked that page about my SC/rambler.
what kind of car was it you raced from Uniontown?
i will ask some friends about him. i have only lived in Uniontown,pa for seven years,i grew up in Clarksburg WVa. the old dragway in Fairmont WVa. is where i used to hang out,it is gone now like so many others.
wasn't it great days when any muscle car had a chance to beat another because of the way the owner could tweak his car, those days are gone forever, very sad. but hay look at all the great friendships , memories and fun that we all got from owning one of these great cars ! ! !
have you ever ran a man named Mike Withers at Norwalk ? he has one of the old SS/AMX's, he lives down around where i grew up at.
thanks,
matt wilson
do you know John Book, he is from clarksburg WVa. and is like a God with Mopars. he had one of the 1970 Hemi Cuda conv.! ! ! i got to ride in this car once, after it was built up and once was enough ! ! ! ALL HIS RACE CARS WERE CALLED (MOUNTAIN MOPAR).
how about Mike Conneley, he is now 62 years old but was hired by Ford to drive one of there 1966 427 Fairlanes. it was called Whitelighting and he ran the car at New England alot and i think Norwalk, hell, he went all over. He told me that he used to have to race in different classes and ran against a Hurst SC/rambler alot in SS class. he said if he had lost to that rambler he would have been fired ! ! ! ok to lose to anything else but not that. he said those AMC 390s worked great with little work done to them and the SC was always right there with him at the end of the 1/4 mile.
good to talk to you,
matt wilson

Dear Dizz,
i would love to ride in a mustang like that ! ! !
please read,(this is a new site, she is still working on getting the bugs worked out of it. this page is about my Hurst SC/rambler and two of the old time slips are here, the SC ran a best time of 12.61 back in the day.

thanks,
matt

Dear Dizz,
maybe you were just never cought off gaurd. maybe i'm mistaken and my Hurst SC/rambler is just a big peice of garbage (glad George Hurst didn't feel that way)! ! !
i also believe that the products we all by at Wal-Mart are always the best made because they're sold by the biggest retailer. (they would never sell us garbage, would they?)
muscle cars are like women,go through as many as you can, and keep the one that has the best total package for you. (but they were all great)
thanks,
matt

nice car ! ! !
my brother had a 1970 Challenger 440 six-pack,he had it all built up.
it was a great car ! ! !
if i had enough money i would like to have at least one muscle car from every make.
i took my SC/rambler to the (Chrylser Classic event) in Pittsburgh Pa. this summer. it was a great event and so many nice mopars. all the mopar guys treated me nice and seem to like the SC alot. alot of the older guys remembered getting cought off gaurd when they played with a SC/rambler ! ! ! win or lose.
thanks,
matt

the AMC cars are the coolest ! ! !
the Hurst SC/rambler screams "mess with me",i don't think there is a funner car. with a few simple bolt-ons these cars were 12.61 1/4 mile BEAST. and all for alot less money then the Big Three cars.
i love them all but the 1969 Hurst SC/rambler is #1 in my book.
click below, (check out all the great muscle car paintings)

Peter wrote me back and told me that when he checked out photos of my SC/rambler it brought back some memories.he said that in the late 1960's he was in charge of a 11 man squad at Ft.Hood Texas.one young man fell in love with a Rambler that had a red/white/blue color scheme.it wasn't your every day Rambler either. he was only 8 months into a 3 year hitch and the Army was offering $4-9,000 cash bonus to re-inlist for 6 additional years.well,he ended up with a "9 year" hitch and the Rambler ! ! !
Peter never saw the Rambler he bought, but now knows that it must have been a 1969 Hurst SC/rambler.
i love this story ! ! ! i can't imagine wanting anything that much in those hard war days of 1969. FREEDOM=AMC

SKYKING,
that is one fine looking (A)paint scheme SC/RAMBLER ! ! ! mine is the (B)paint scheme.
http://www.musclecarcalendar.com/MyGarage2004/MattScrambler/ScramblerHome.htm
hope you can get the pictures up so these car can be seen.
you are right , most of them were sold in the northeast so the father you get away from there the less chance anyone will see one.
i loved looking at your MET,i always liked those. sorry to hear those kids hit it with a rock.
i work in a print shop also ! ! !
thanks,matt

Peter told me it was a HONEST MISTAKE must not had know that the AMC Hurst SC/rambler was pretty much a fractory built Hot rod.
he says there has been some HOT RODDERS & RICERS atacking the AACA forum.
i can see how this could happen so i have no hard feelings.
i love the old classic cars,as i grew up with them and know a little about the AACA.
i am very pleased to have the SC on this site and look forward to talking to some of you about your great cars.i have left some comments under photos already ! ! !
thanks again Peter and everyone else also,
matt

the WILLS ST. CLAIRE was truely one of the best built cars ever made.
i don't have a digital picture of it but i will scan one to the site.
it was and still is a very nice unrestored WILLS. we took it to the factory in Marysville Mi. back in the 80s. i'm told Chrysler had it torn down not to long ago (sad),they did same to AMC plant also. i love Chrysler also but it stinks they have to do this , i guess for taxes.
thanks,
matt

if you all feel that my (B)paint scheme Hurst SC/rambler(RED,WHITE,BLUE POWERHOUSE) does not belong or if it offends you all please, let me know and i will remove it. THIS WOULD BE SAD BUT I WILL DO IT.
thanks, matt

thank you so much for your post. i to did not understand why my Hurst SC/rambler post was removed. i have posted again in the AMC area as i must not have been welcome to come out of the closet.
i love all cars and my family have had nice Packards and one of the rarest classics ever made,a 1926 WILLS SAINT CLAIRE ! ! ! I HAVE LOOKED ON YOUR PHOTO SITE FOR ONE WITH NO LUCK, I WAS GOING TO SEND A PICTURE BUT MAYBE IT WOULD BE DISSED ALSO AS THERE ARE ONLY ABOUT 70 OR SO WILLS SAINT CLAIRE'S LEFT. C.H.WILLS was the right hand man for Henry Ford.
THANKS,MATT

i have a AMC 1969 Hurst SC/rambler, but i might be interested in another one for my wife at a fair price along with any parts that could be found. i would also like to hear any old stories and buy any old pictures that someone might have of a SC/rambler (at a dragstrip would be great).these SC/ramblers were the SHOCKER of the MUSCLE CAR WORLD.
if you don't know what one looks like (as they are very rare) just click on photo section and you will see mine under other makes (it is red , white , blue). you can also go to http://musclecarcalendar.com/MyGarage2004/MattScrambler/ScramblerHome.htm
thank you very much for your time.
