  1. Thanks to all of you that have sent prayers for my wife Valeri, please keep them coming.

Sorry I haven't been around in a while as things have been pretty crazy in our lives here the past couple of years. What had seemed to be large promblems just don't matter anymore with Valeri fighting liver cancer. She is only 41 years old and never had any bad habbits, Hard to believe this has happend. Please see our story and car at,

    www.highwayofhope.com

See the enjoyment we have had with our car in this video,

Valeri just had her first treatment at "Cancer Treament Centers of American" and I have to say the care there is outstanding. We believe Valeri has a great chance to prolong her life with a good quality here. Maybe they will even find a cure soon,we are praying that will be the case for all person with cancer.

I will now find a way to use our Hurst SC/Rambler for promoting cancer awareness !!! Valeri has a rare type of cancer so little money has been used to find a cure. I will be a advocate for Valeri and her rare cancer the rest of my life.

    God Bless,

    Matt & Valeri

I have been very busy with this new factory job. They start the 3rd shift this weekend and I will work on that shift. I will now have some time to be more active on the forum so I will talk to you all soon. Hope all is well with you guys and gals.

  3. <div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">BJ and all the Arizona auctions are a modern car hobby phenomenon that may already be out of my, and most of us- league. True, anyone can go if so inclined, but everything comes at a price I'll bet. (I've never been) I'll bet the hotels ($) are packed, as they would be anyway being winter in Arizona, food money ($), entrance money ($$) - all just to view the spectacle. Kind of like going to the Super Bowl - a lot of people just go for the party with no intention of ever trying togain admittance.

For those who have been, I would like to know what the cost would be to attend the auctions, or even how it is organized. I don't have SPEED channel, but a motel I stayed in last weekend did and they were already running cars through then!

They made it sound like they would be auctioning off cars for weeks! Weeks? It's like a whole industry. When it gets this bad, I love a good crash. </div></div>

I'm just going to the B.J. auction to look and enjoy the cars. I am very lucky that a friend I made through the AMC hobby has paid for everything except my plane ticket. The ticket cost me $272.00 round trip. I'm going to just have fun and take some nice pictures. It is cool to know that I will see a Hurst SC/Rambler like mine go through the block. I really don't care what it sells for as I hope to keep mine and put many more miles on it over the years.

This trip to B.J. auction will mean a lot to me as I have never been in a plane or ever been that far out West before. Everything about this trip will be new to me and I'm going to have a great time even though I have empty pockets !!! I hope I get to meet the new owner of the SC that will be sold there. I want to give him a poster for the Hurst SC/Rambler Registry at,

    www.amazingmusclecars.com

    Thanks,

    Matt

    PS: Susan & Bill,

I had a great time enjoying dinner with you and my family (car included) at the Quaker Steak & Lube restaurant. Still can't believe I own a car that is on display in such a cool restaurant !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. Is anyone from the forum going to the Barrett Jackson Auto Auction ???

I was just invited by a friend and all I had to do was buy my plane tickets,$272.0 round trip. I have never been in a plane before so I almost said no. After I thought about it I decided that I might never get a chance like this again. I will be there from the 15th to the 18th and will see a rare 1969 B-scheme Hurst SC/Rambler like mine be sold at this auction !!!!!!!!!!!!! I also can't wait to see the true Classic cars that will be there. I will take a lot of pictures !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If anyone is going ,look for the guy wearing a shirt with a B-scheme Hurst SC/Rambler on the back of it and that will be me.

Did anyone see the new Super Muscle Car Shootout on Speed Channel this past Friday night ??? It was a great show with Yenko Nova and Camaro that had 427's in them. There were other great cars also, one of them being a B-paint scheme Hurst SC/Rambler !!! The SC did great against these giants of the Big Three and the Host of the show had nothing but good things to say about it. You can still see the trailer video for this show at, www.dreamcargarage.com .

Remember my SC is still on display at the Quaker Steak and Lube restaurant in Charleston WV. They even used my SC for their restaurant shirts. See,

PS: I also want to show you a story about the 1971 Hemi Cuda convertible that will be sold at the RM auction this month. I got to sit in that very same car when I was fourteen years old. To think they say it will sell for over 4 million. See,

Bill wins the bet, he said it would be a week or less before Matt was back. No word on Val. <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> So he probably doesn't know the photo didn't show up yet. <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" /> </div></div>

I back home from checking on my SC this weekend. I spent the evening at the restaurant talking about cars and watching the WV. football game. I got home to find out Val still loves me <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> and she was <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" /> to see I didn't bring the car back with me.

The Charleston WV. Quaker Steak and Lube restaurant will use the image of my SC for their new shirts, very cool !!! I also had a email when I got home showing me that the Hurst SC/Rambler registry will be using a my SC for their shirts. The artist that did the painting of my SC/Rambler is helping the registry do this.

I have read about your cars and I really like them. If I ever have the money to own more then one classic car I think a Amphicar might well be next. I like the cars that are different !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I went down to check on my SC in the restaurant over the weekend. They tell me the people really like it,that makes me feel good.

I came home to find that shirts are now being made for the Hurst SC/Rambler registry. These are being created for the registry by the auto artis that painted my Hurst SC/Rambler. They will be on the market soon and have the registry logo on the front of them. I can't wait to get mine. amc3.jpg

  7. <div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">All kidding aside, with the possibility of leaking fluids and rust up underneath the car, that could be a health code issue.

    </div></div>

The SC has no leaks but the Corvette on the other hoist does. They have a drip pan under it and if the SC ever needed one they will put it there. I have cleaned up the underside and painted it black sometime ago. The only time it was driven in rain since was when I drove it to the AACA meet !!!!!!!!!! If any rust it came from that drive. Not many people would do that. Those restaurants are always very clean,at least the one in Charleston,WV. is.

I'm really glad you all seem to like the car being there. Shoprat is right I do miss it at home. Feels good though to know people are getting to learn about a rare muscle car as they eat dinner.

I hope no one sticks any old chicken bones in my tail pipes !!!!!!!!!! I will need to make sure no one is behind the car when I fire it up.

    Thanks,

    Matt

PS: I know I don't own the nicest SC/Rambler out there but I seem to do the most with one. I couldn't have this much fun with the car if it was perfect. When I take the SC home from the restaurant I will be sure to smoke the tires for the employees and take some of them for a ride as they have already asked me to do this.

    Thanks,

    Matt

See attachment, I will add more soon.

I was honored when I was asked by upper management if I would display my Hurst SC/Rambler at the Quaker Steak & Lube restaurant in Charleston W.Va. I'm very glad to display this rare car for people to see and read the history of it. It was great that two AACA members came over to see the car on it's first night at the restaurant, thanks Shoprat & Bill. I will post more later but have to get this stuff up on a few AMC sites , AACA forum came first though !!!!!!!!!!!!!

PS : If you stop in please sign the SC/Rambler guestbook as I have a page in there showing some of the AACA race cars .

    Thanks,

  9. Hi eveyone,

Hope all is well for you guys.

I was asked if I would drive my old Red,White & Blue Hurst SC/Rambler to the flight 93 memorial in Shanksville Pa today. I was glad to drive the 85 miles there in the car as I haven't had it out much lately. They had me park the car close to the memorial so I was honored. I met lots of fine people from all over and many remarked on the R,W&B Rambler. At any given time it seemed like hundreds of people there. So many Harleys there you could even count them. I have wanted to see this memorial for awhile and to be there with so many other people was just very special. I left after staying there for seven hours and felt great about being a American. It is a special place as not all people would have been as brave as the passangers of Flight 93.

    See attachments.

    Thanks,

    Matt

  10. I built a web page that shows my Hurst SC/Rambler over at CAR DOMAIN. This is a huge site that has all kind of cars on it.

I talk about how great the AACA is and added a link to this AACA web site.

Please check out the page as I tried to make it pretty nice. It is only three short pages , not a whole lot of reading.

I made the background as dark as I could so the white letters show up.

Hope you all are doing well !!!!!!!!!!! I start a new job this week, will see how it goes.

  12. I met a man that took some photos of my Hurst SC/Rambler. He said he could make a nice piece of art work with them. One week later I received this,

    l_My%20SCRambler%202130.jpg

This image is also used on business cards that I give out to people as they have the web address to the Hurst SC/Rambler registry on them, www.joiesjeeps.com . He made me some t-shirts with SC on front and back, the back well look great when I'm out riding the Harley, see attachment. The nice thing is that I have permission from Dave to use the photo for anything I want so it might find it's way in a magazine or newsletter.

Sorry I haven't been on here much in awhile. My wife had major surgery two months ago and because of this she lost her job where she had been a outstanding employee for many years. We are lucky as we have a lawyer that will fight hard for us . Most people can't defend against a large company when this hapends but we will even if I have to sell the SC/Rambler. I will not go into detail until everything is over but it sure rocks your world !!!!!

Hope you all are doing well !!!!!!!!!!! ex98thdrill,tell your Dad I said hi !!!!!!!!!! Hope he is feeling better.

    Thanks,

    Matt
