  1. HELP!! HELP!! For the first time since I can't remember when, we will have almost an entire new team for 2009 (only 2 retreads) and I will have to stand in for our Prez to install them. In past years, we've done everything from serious to hilarious. For this year with the "newbies" I would like to do something that is in keeping with their new-found enthusiasm. Can anyone give me something you have used or an outline that can be modified? Have posted on the Editors Forum as well and thanks in advance. Patt

  3. Bringing this back to the top for the "weekenders" in that must use what is here starting Monday. Thanks in advance for any and all thoughts and ideas. Patt
  4. Morning everyone...just wondered how many owners have anti-theft protection on their pride-and-joys? Have read several accounts over this past year of cars/trucks/motorcycles, etc being stolen. Some recovered, some not. Just curious to know if you protect your investment, other than putting it in a garage, and how. Again, Buddy is using you, the members, to do an article for our Region's newsletter. Thanks for your input. Patt
  5. Peter G. has started you in the right direction. If, for any reason, you can not connect the person he mentioned, try Harry McGill at (61)424-7943 in Imperial Beach. He is a also a member of the SD Region and past newsletter editor.
  6. Mark...we do the same as above with speakers but not frequently. We have almost as many women as men in our group and they sometimes get a bit bored with technicalities. We do some triva (that both husband/wife can participate)with a prize, about every third or fourth month we have a meal before the meeting and really try to dispense with the business aspect AQAP so that we can enjoy fellowship with some type of refreshment. Hope this will give you some ideas that could be tweaked to fit your group.
  7. Hi Gang I don't knnow how many of your Regions/Chapters participated in this but our Deep South Region winner is now in the National competition. If you have no reason to vote for any of the other entries, we would appreciate your vote to help our youngster to win a trip to California. Just click on the link and follow the instructions. http://www.hagerty.com/modelbuildingcontest Thanks to all of you. Patt
  8. Hi Gang I don't know how many of your Regions/Chapters participated in the contest but our Deep South Region winner is in the National Contest. It is THE ONLY AACA entry on the National level. If you have no reason to vote for one of the other entries, we would appreciate your vote for our youngster's attempt to win a trip to California. Thanks for being one of the good guys (or gals, as the case might be). Click on the link and cast your vote. Patt Paquet http://www.hagerty.com/modelbuildingcontest/
  9. Judy Are you saying the only way to get a copy of Wheels to use for promoting the Junior program is that "I" sign up as a member? In that our 25th annual car show is coming up on May 10th and our Region is participating in the Hagerty's Model Car Contest and hope to have a fair number of the 8-14 age group at the show (having participated in the aforementioned) seems a lost cause to be able to reproduce copies to entice new members. Any suggestions from anyone out there that is interested in the Youth Program? Patt
  10. Is "Wheels" distributed USPS or E-mail? For those of us who are involved with the younger set in Regions/Chapters, is it possible to get an E-mail copy we can duplicate for events to encourage youth to become involved? We have about 4-5 between the ages of 6-15 that regularly come to meetings with parents and only 2 are Junior/Student members. We provide them with games/coloring/etc age appropriate but it sure would be an asset if we could get an E-mail copy to work with. Patt Paquet
  11. LRC refers to AACA's Library and research center
  12. A friend and fellow AACA member has recently acquired a 1926 Ajax 6 (Nash) and needs help determining correct interior. Have gotten all the LRC has but nothing specific with regard to upholstery. Can you help? Also LRC material says paint is "Mallard green", a grayish-green. Any suggetions there? Thanks in advance. 13. We have a friend who recently acquired a 1926 Ajax 6 (Nash) and needs to know the correct upholstery. Have gotten all the LRC has but nothing specific about interior. Also LRC material state color is "mallard green" but where do you get a paint chip or specs for mixing color? It is said to be a gray green. Thanks in advance for any help Patt Paquet
  14. Our L & RC came to the rescue as far as the Dec '88 issue of Collectible Automobile. Kim is putting a copy of the article Paul mentioned in the mail as I write this. However, any other information will be most welcome. Patt
  15. Thanks to all of you for your help. Shoprat, was the bright work painted over when you acquired the vehicle? Please don't let the flow of information stop. I will be monitoring daily. Again, THANKS!
