  1. I have an 88 Reatta that idles at 1100rpm for at least 3 min. then it finally starts to idle down where I feel safe putting her in gear. I live in San Diego I don't need a cold-fast-idle. Is there any way to slow it down? I am afraid I will damage the trans putting it in gear at 1000-1100rpm. Thanks, Mike [color:\\"red\\"]
  2. I recently replaced the speakers in my 88 Reatta. Then I went to Best Buy and purchased the sony rf-454 10 disc cd changer and they installed it for $100. The system sounds great. Remove the door panels carefully/slowly. The door speakers are 4ohm so any 5 1/4 or some 6.5 will do as long as 4ohm. Just clip off the factory connector and crimp on spade plugs. The rear set up is different. The rears are 6.5 but are 10 ohm and tweeters are 7ohm so you cant use ther rear tweeters so just buy a good 6.5 2 or 3 way 4 ohm clip all 4 wires and use the main line wires from amp red+/blk- bolt and go. Any questions you can e-mail me: mikejgraham@earthlink.net Good luck, Mike [color:\\"red\\"]
  3. I recently saw a Z1 module kit for Reatta/Rivera claiming 22HP gain. Anyone out there have any experience with or knowledge about this item? Tks, Mike [color:\\"red\\"]
  4. I read the reply on output capacitors that sounded to simple. Are there any instructions like there is for the tape player repair so we that are mechanically challanged can remove the unit without destroying the car. Also does anyone know a source for hub-cap centers. Tks Mike
  5. I have been hearing a lot of talk about the Teves brake system and de-teving or something, why? Can a person just suck the old fluid out of the reservior and put some good dot3 synthetic in? My anti-lock brake light is on also?? Mike
  6. I am the new guy in Reatta country. I keep hearing about Teves brakes and de-teving?? Also that flush proceedure sounds complicated can one just suck the fluid out of reservoir and fill with some good synthetic?? Also the anti-lock warning light comes and goes? Could someone please enlighten me? Mike [color:\\"red\\"]
  7. I recently heard something about Reatta Delco radios' popping and cracking and the cause being a capacitor. Is it in the radio itself or in line somewhere? Can someone elaborate? Also did the 88 Reatta have some sort of amplification other than the radio itself? How many watts output? Tks, Mike Red 88 [color:\\"red\\"]
  8. Hey, new guy here. Pardon me but I am new to Reatta's. I hear a lot of discussion about the Teve something brakes and accumulators. Can someone give me just a 25 cent update on whats what in the brake department? That brake proceedure sounds rather complicated. Can I just pump the resevoir out and add some synthetic fluid? Tks, Mike [color:\\"red\\"]
  9. I just purchased an 88 red/saddle coupe w/69,000 miles on her. The car was repainted and is nearly perfect in and out, new tires no cracks in dash or seats or steering wheel. I did replace the interrupt magnet and while there new cam chain, gear and water pump. Electively I replaced the front struts/KYB and rears/monroe sensitrack. I put K&N air filter on also wires and plugs. She purrs all I need to do is fix tape player (belt) door speakers and she will be done. I paid $5,000 for her and put an additional $1,000 in her but she is smooth, real smoothe. Just wanted to add that this forum is wonderful and thanks to everyone that has given me help. Good luck to all!! Michael J. Graham [color:\\"red\\"]
  10. I am looking for a factory CD player. Question: Does it plug in where the tape player is ( I have an 88 model) and will the c-r-t control it? Tks, Mike [color:\\"red\\"]
  11. Someone was talking about having a back-up for the automatic trunk release in case it goes out. Can someone elaborate on that? Tks, Mike [color:\\"red\\"]
  12. I need to replace the door speakers aparantly the cones are a little under the weather. What size and ohm are the stock ones? Do I have to go with original equipment if I choose to keep the system otherwise stock? [color:\\"red\\"] [color:\\"red\\"] Tks, Mike
  13. Hi, I have an 88 Reatta and was thinking that the grease in the c.v. joint boots is probably in need of replacing or adding. Is it possible to do this without tearing the transaxel apart and putting new boots on her? Also I need a c-r-t does anyone have one or know a source? Or part #. Tks, Mike Graham
  14. Hi, My name is Mike and I am a new Reatta owner. I know very little about these automobiles however, I know that they are special and require someone that knows a little something about that particular car. So this is to someone in the San Diego area. Is there someone here that knows Reattas. Tks, Mike Graham
  15. I am looking for a replacement c-r-t tube for my 88 Reatta. I am just learning about these cars so bear with me. Are these c-r-t tubes very reliable or do they have a reputation for going out? What else can I expect? I have 69,000 on her. Any help is greatly appreciated. Mr Padgett has been very kind and helpful, thank you sir! Truly, Mike Graham
