  1. I saw a note on the Caddilac-LeSalle Club forum that there has been another 65-66 Cadillac Community web page created. Is there one for let say for example the 67-68 Cadillacs??? Inquiring minds would like to know!
  2. Thanks Bob!! I'll have to give them a call! If you don't mind me asking what kind of a ballpark price would one expect to pay for a manual?
  3. Well it sounds like it may be time to learn how to do a compression check! If you can change a spark plug and start your car you too can do a compression check! The compression check can give you some valuable insight on if the motor really does run as good as you think it does! Or if it really does need open heart surgery! Why spend the $$ if all you need is a couple of seals. Can someone here tell us what numbers you would be looking for when you run a compression check on a 1947 Cadi Engine??
  4. Wow very impressive collection of cars! I'm crazy about the '47! I appreciate the kind words on my '67. I am a certified car nut! This car is my other toy. So I pretty much have both ends of the spectrum cover as far as car size go!
  5. It may be a good time to run a compression check on the motor, it would at least give you a baseline for what all may need done to the motor once it is out of the car. If you can get you hands on a bore scope you could also take a peek at those combustion chambers and get an ideal if any machine work would be required on the engine. Sounds like it could be a fun winter project!
  6. I'm from the school of if it works don't _____ with it! Have you run a compression check on the engine to see how it doing? I don't have any experience with a motor of that vintage! Can you change the seals with it in the car, or does in need to come out? Tell us more!
  7. I put together a car domain site for the car: http://www.cardomain.com/id/67cadi Hope to get some more outside shots of the car this weekend, but I may need a bigger camera so I can get it all in the frame! Is there any way to search the photo gallery? I can't find ya?
  8. Thanks Randall! I just checked Kanters website, I did pay a bit too much for the wheel cylinders . I also filled out & paid the on-line membership application for the National Cadillac-LaSalle club back on the 10th, so hopefully that will lead me to more information!
  9. Who are you guys using for parts on your ?60-?70 vintage Cadillac?s? Regular maintenance items are no problem plugs, oil filters and so on. I found front wheel cylinders for my ?67 at NAPA after an extensive search but I'm sure I paid tooooo much. It gets a little old having some of my local yocal parts guys getting all whinny when the have to pull out the ?books? since the ?67 isn?t in the ?puter.
  10. I bought a Chilton's Manual for Cadillac 1967 to 1989. It's just a bit vague for what I am wanting. It doesn't show the drum brake configuration on my '67. Bit it does show a nice "typical" layout for a drum brake! <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" /> What would be a more accurate service book for the car? I have seen a couple of Shop Manuals on e-bay, but haven't come across one for the '67. Is there a source for a reproduction of the original shop manuals? Thanks! Mick
  11. Hey I found another place thanks to Google, looks like they are in your neck of the woods! http://www.clockwks.com/CLOCKWORKS/The_Clock_Worx.html Mick
  12. I'm looking for a replacement clock for my '67. I ran across these guys http://www.billsclockshop.com They can fix them http://www.billsclockshop.com/repair.html and the sell them http://www.billsclockshop.com/automobile.htm There is another company that does they quartz conversion I had one in my Corvette, the second hand swept around instead of ticking off the seconds, it cost me a few point on the Vette. I'd imagine a Cadillac judge would be just as anal <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" />. Mick
  13. Hi everyone I just found this Forum and wanted to say hello! I just got my late grandfathers 1967 Coupe DeVille shipped down to me the start of this month! The car has been sitting since 1980 in a garage in Western Pa. It is actually running and driving on the road already and has needed very little attention to get it going! So far I have joined the National Cadillac - LaSalle club and have been cleaning and polishing on my new toy! <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" /> I made a web page for the car...
