  1. I am going to add turn signal lights to my 1929 4 dr. Chevrolet Sedan. Of course it is 6 Volt system--can anyone suggest what gauge wire I should use??? I plan on wiring the lights as running lights---brake lights--AND TURN SIGNALS. the SWITCH also allows for 4 way flashers which I will utilize. The running lights will be a separate circuit on a fused switch to allow for more visibility at night. The rest of the circuits will go through the signal switch.----- I was thinking 12 GA--Does this sound reasonable to you?
  2. Look for my PM----THANKS
  3. Does anyone remember the Traffic Truck from the 20's or 30's? I would appreciate any info on the company and its trucks. My Grandfather sold them in Upstate N.Y.S. in the early 1900's--He is no longer around to acquire info about them. Would very much appreciate any info--I do not even have a photo--so ANY info would be much help.
  4. Want to Buy----- (Left and Right)------ FRONT SIDE WINDOW VENT REGULATORS for a 1940 Olds---- series G40--Model 70--4 Door Sedan. My frames and glass are ok--but regulator brackets are broken. Will consider complete units--or just the regulators (as long as both function) Please E-Mail price and photo's if available.
  5. I am working on a '64 Cutlass which has a 330,4 bbl carb, high compression engine in it. It has MORE THAN 1 Hyd valve lifter with issues (leak down--- etc). I plan on replacing ALL 16 lifters--and was wondering if it would be a good time to also replace ALL the PUSHRODS TOO. I have not ,as yet , opened it up to see what I have--but would like some opinions on whether or not the PUSHRODS should be changed out also. I may find a rocker arm or two that will show wear and need replacement--and wonder if they ALL should be replaced--or just the BAD ones. in other words is it OK to run NEW with OLD and not cause a problem? Thanks in advance for the feed-back. Pitman
  6. THANKS FOR THE ADVICE---- I will relay this to Bob and let him decide!!!!
  7. My friend has a '57 chevy with MANUAL STEERING. He wishes to install POWER STEERING. When he goes to the salvage yard to look for a PUMP,Bracket/and steering gear box ---what year vehicle and model should he be looking for??? Someone suggested a 66 Chevelle??? but I am sure someone out there with the correct knowledge can offer a more precise answer!!! I told him about this site and offered to ask for him----- since he is not computer literate at all. Any suggestion will be much appreciated.

  12. I have a 29 Chevy with an external fuel gauge on the tank. I have replaced the float--but now the new one sinks as well. Can anyone suggest a product to seal the cork float so that it will still float ---- not absorb fuel and sink and the coating withstand gas without getting eaten off??

  16. I am looking for a GOOD pair of turn signal (parking light) lenses. Please send photo and price!! Vehicle is a 2 dr HT---- 1964 Cutlass---330 HO engine. I may need other parts as well--if you have more than lenses available please advise. Thanks, Pitman
  17. I need to replace the cover gasket on my 64 Cutlass differential. When I refill it can I use 85-140 gear oil--or should I us 90 Wt------ as I think that is what is in it now??? I am in Arizona and the temps are normally HIGH------ if that makes a difference. I would appreciate any feed back-----personally I think 85-140 would work fine--but would like other opinions.
  18. Thanks for all the great help Guys!! What are your feelings of me replacing the shifter and rods(which are worn and connections bad) with a new Hurst Comp/Plus shifter and install kit?? It would give me ALL NEW ITEMS and I think might solve most of my problems. Any thoughts on this SHIFTER--- and if it is a GOOD replacement for my use???---I have seen it advertised in Jegs,Summit even on E-Bay--but all are supposedly HURST!!!!
  19. I have a 1972-- 440-- 4Speed Roadrunner. The shifter leaves an awful lot to be desired. It is the pistol grip shifter----and makes it very hard to find gears. 1st to 2nd may give you 4th--1st and Reverse are real close and only way to know it isn't reverse is the "LIGHT". I would like to have a shifter that works SMOOTH and does not leave you guessing what gear you actually have. It seems to bind when shifting--and there is absolutely no way it can sucessfully be speed shifted!! Do I need this shifter rebuilt-----or is there a BETTER after-market shifter out there that you can reccommend???---Tranny is 833 if that makes a difference. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. PITMAN
  20. Thanks to everyone that replied------I will take your good advice and try the old one before looking to replace it with a new lock set for NO GOOD REASON. I kind of thought it would work OK--but like to ask the EXPERTS before I get myself in trouble. PITMAN

The advice I request is----- should I replace the lock set with a new set to match my new switch----or would using the old lock set with a new switch work out fine????? I'M not sure about running OLD with NEW--thus the QUESTION. Thanks in advance for any replys.
