Hi! I guess you should check this place out:
http://www.rockymountainrelics.com/
I had very good service from there once, even they didn't have the right parts for my car.
I bought rear fenders for my truck from Ebay. If you have enough patience, it would be a good way to find them as well ;-)
Can you post any pics from your truck??

According to www.coker.com
14x9.00 BFGoodrich's ,

Do you guys wanna know how much 1 litre (1/4 gallon) gas costs in Finland now? about 2 dollars!!!
-
I have heard about this episode.. Does that show have any name or date -- I really would like to see it!

How about NEW BF Goodrich bias-ply tires? My brother changed his radials to those and they ARE GREAT TO DRIVE!!!! We will never use radials on our cars!! The car is '62 Imperial, by the way

thanks a lot for the info.Any ideas where to find information on canadian built Dodges/Fargos from that era?
Does anyone have any clue how many these "bare chassis" Dodges were sold?
Where to find Factory Photos?

Hi.. i Have a small problem. I have this '38 Dodge Truck 3/4 ton or 1 ton.. I'm not quite sure. I think that it's a 3/4 ton.. Wheelbase is 136" .
But, the engine is the problem. The car(chassis) has been assembled in UK in 1938. The engine is the bigger six. (Chrysler or DeSoto). I'm not quite sure did they offer this engine to other Dodge Trucks in US?
I guess it would be easy to identify engine from engine number, but in this engine, the number is gone (from the drivers side near generator).. Is there any other places where I could look for this number?
What engines did Chrysler corp. offer in '38..?
Can anyone help?
thanks!

No no no...It's the metal "plate" or "cup" that comes between rubber and spring. I don't even know if it's necessary to it be there, but of course, it should be

If I remember right, Andy Bernbaum has them also? Or was it Roberts Motor Parts?

What do you guys think...
I've heard that R & R Fiberglass in Cleveland Tennessee
Tn. 423-476-2270
makes rear fenders for 1937-38 Dodge PickUps/Trucks.(don't know the price.. Anyone familiar with this company?)
I've found one NOS (driver's side) for 500 dollars and couple of dented/used/rusted(?) .
I think 500 dollars is very much.. (NOS don't mean perfect..)
And don't want rusted fenders...
Of course, metal is always metal... but need to get those fenders FAST.
Firberglass would be temporary solution.. Just to get the car on the road for this summer..
What do you guys think? What would be the wisest move.. I have a budget.. because I'm still a student..
Thanks!

Today, with a little oil check etc. I started the engine and drove it couple hundred meters in our shops yard.. !!!
You have to "drive it more" than Imperial from the sixties! Ok, next thing, put some wires on it and make the lights work. The car had brakes, I only had to use two feet to stop the car.. Yes.. No power brakes
-
There's a back seat also. But only 1 front seat(I know you guessed that it's for the driver
).
There used to be a stool (not bolted) in the passenger side but it's disappeared...
Check the Dodge brothers forum, I'll try to write there some more info, when I have enough time
This car has never had any RUST!
-
Well. I have NEVER heard that there would be another '38 Dodge Truck in Finland. But on the other hand, who the heck would have needed those fenders, if there weren't.. I know one '38 pickup..
But Yes, of course I'm interested in buying those parts from US. I know a company in Pomona,Ca that ships stuff to Finland, and I have used them many times. No problem!!
Tow vehicle? Oh, you mean that Volkswagen Transporter 4x4? Well, you couldn't tell that there was 2150 kilos+trailer in the back, but I do not personally like those Transporter vans myself. I would prefer more a Chevy Van

Hi guys!
Here's my granfathers car that he previuosly used in his work after IIWW until 1959.
I got it back to our family last saturday!
The car has an original Dodge KEW(UK-made) chassis, front fenders, running boards (also rear fenders were original-Dodge, but they are missing), grille engine(bigger desoto/chrysler engine), tranny and axles. I guess this has a 3/4 ton chassis?? Well, atleast wheelbase is 136" and it has sixbolt wheels.
That CrewCab body has been made in Finland in 1938 by local body shop. This is the only one made in Finland. (of course they made lot's of bodies to trucks and busses..)
Funny thing is that there's a gas tank UNDER drivers seat, and when you are filling it up, you must remove drivers seat cushion. Grandfather once told, that the handbrake lining once set on fire and he had to hurry up to kill the fire with snow! I can imagine what would had happened, if the car had continued burning..
This car has never had any rust, but unfortunately, previuos owner-restorers have lost some important parts! Like bed sides, grille parts, rear fenders and some interior parts also. Steering wheel is also "so long.."
The car has originally colored dark green with black fenders.
All information and help is appreciated!!!
Some photos:
(these photos are from last saturday. The older guy in the photos is my grandfather, who is checking out "his old servant" :-) )
Here's from 1952 with my grandfather:
So looking for parts and info, THANKS!
You can also contact me at mikajaakkola1979(at)yahoo.com
And notice, that I live in Finland.

Dear Matt, I wish You know what I know about this car. Only couple of years it's life is little bit unknown..
The car has always been a "government" car in Finland. But has been a very important for me because it's been a part of our family...
Glad we got it back!

The BIG day was yesterday!
I finally got it!
So:
Here it is!
My grandfather is checking out his "old servant" as he said it.
After 11 years.. I feel great! I'm so excited about this!
As you guys can see, there's some stuff that is missing like rear fenders, grille parts etc.

Give us both, of course exclude limos!!

GREAT!!! Nice to hear that!
This one reminds me (again
) about my son. He was then (now 3
)1,5 years old when he got a flue and few hours later he just couldn't breath very well.. and started turning first white, then blue..!!!!
We took him to a hospital, ok, I guess we would have done it sooner, but we really thought that it he would get better soon(I mean in hours).. He was in very "critical" condition because he couldn't breath so well. I remember that oxygen saturation was little bit over 70 when we got there!!!
Well, they gave him oxygen and some medicine and he really started feeling better after few hours.
If I remember right he was in hospital few days! But made it very well, after the first shock! Nobody really explained what was wrong with him ...
The little guy had to go there second time also, same thing, when he got flue. But we were wise enough to take him there sooner that time. Them they explained that it was VERY COMMON problem with small children today! I wish we would had known it from our first visit in that hospital..!! I guess we would have slept much better after the first one!!
But now, when he has grown bigger, and gets a flue, he can breath normally. Thank God!

Yes, It's finally true!
I've got a deal on that truck I've tried to get for last 11 years!!!
Owners didn't wan't any money from the car, so they traded it for my 1939 Dodge DeLuxe.
That truck is The Truck my grandpa used to drive after IIWW daily at his work.
I've posted few photos of the car few months ago, but what a heck. . here they are again
And here's the old photos from 1952 in Finland(with my grandpa, who is, by the way, 85 years old today):
So the BIG day(when I pick up the car) will be 21st May!
Oh yes, and the truck is 1938 Dodge "Crew Cab" body made in Finland.. The only '38 Dodge with this kind of body. This was the only one made!!!
-
Well.. Shipping from USA to Finland is almost too easy.. You can make every arrangements so easily. All You just have to do is find nearest computer..
-
Is it correct to ask, how much an Amphicar in that condition costs.. app... ?? I have always kept the model very desirable for me atleast.. .

1. Cord 810/812 or L-29. These ARE WONDERFUL CARS!
2. 1957-58 or '61 Imperial Convertible
3. I don't know... Maybe another Cord 810/812 or L-29
What would be a good one for daily driver? ;-)

OK, this may sound a little strange.. I think I will need a daily driver (never had one).. But I don't want any "normal" one.. So I have enough time to look around. I'll have to get one at the end of this year. My new job forces me to have one.
Actually, they offered me a 2001 VW Polo for free, but I din't want that one. I had a good excuse.. It doesn't burn enough gas
Yes, I guess my boss didn't understand what I was after.. ![grin.gif](https://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/grin.gif)
No, I have never owned a car newer that '64 And I'm really considering one from ..let's say.. '46-'55?
What would be the best option?! I had a '49-'50 Ford on my mind, though I'm more a MoPar guy.
V8, easy to fix, cheap to maintain, looks nice, 4 doors
, lot's of repro parts available.
Any ideas?
