I found plastic tubing that size for my 61 at a place that sold hydraulic hoses so you might check around for that. It was 3" as I remember.

I have a 50 Olds and it needs a BC2 size battery that NAPA sells. You have to get the class 2 battery as the class 1 size will not turn it over. I think that battery goes from 37 to 52. Look at the NAPA site and it will tell you what battery. Hemmings had an article on this which is referenced in the URL below.

I am not sure if you posted this in other forums. It certainly should be, especially in the brass forums. Also, it would be good in the technical forum if you have not done so. I am also sending this to the newsletter editor of our club. Sorry, I missed your comment on the brass forum.

For what it is worth, NAPA shows a rebuilt generator for the 57 Chevy but does not list one for the 57 Olds.

In 1961, Oldsmobile offered a 3 speed manual transmission on the low end 88. I think that was the last of the 3 speeds. It was not available on the other models.

Depending upon where you live in NJ, you would be most welcome to join a local chapter of the AACA where the members are happy to help you with problems like those you have mentioned. I too would vote for QQ plates as you would probably drive it to car events.

You definitely have a clutch fan as I have a 61 with factory air and had to replace the clutch fan.

The New Jersey Region had 30 members there. As far as I know, everyone had a great time, and they all enjoyed themselves. Now we have a Region tour to Maine that starts tomorrow so quite a few of us will have done some traveling in the last few weeks.

I hope 1,100 of those were not from out of the USA all trying to sell the same car to us. After purchasing 15 Duesenbergs from Nigeria for $500 each, I can not wait until they until they get here. I can not believe it takes 3 years for them to get here.

Just remember to not mix a bias and radial tire on the same axle. You would be better off purchasing a 5th tire as mixing them is not a good idea.

I know you could still get a manual transmission in 1961 for the 88 only. I think that was the last year for the full size. Not sure about the F-85 manual ones.

Wayne - for a car guy, you should know that FTP stands for Ford Thunderbird Passenger. Software is for what your underwear becomes when you soak it a lot.
Really Wayne, you need to update your knowledge if you are going to be successful in your field. It must be nice to play with trucks all day.

Yes, a few of the webmasters are using it. I am experimenting with it but have a few technical hurdles to overcome yet.
You will have to get a website that will support joomla if you are using the AACA website as it does not support it. I think ours cost about $50 for two years. Contact Peter Gariepy for details.

Does anyone have the Hollander Interchange Manual that would show if a 50 Olds 88 4 door sedan gas tank (part # 557667) is the same as a 50 Chevrolet gas tank for the same model.
