  1. I need a speed control transducer for my '81 Riviera with 307 engine. The number on the unit is 25031261. Thanks for your help.
  2. I now did get the clutch to engage intermittently, but it won't run steady or cool the system. The compressor clutch runs fine with direct current. I have a shop manual, but don't see a solution.
  3. Thank you for the suggestion. I did try to engage the clutch directly and it works. However, there is no power in the line there. I have replaced the control head as there was a vacuum leak and the lever was jambed. Now all is free. As I ran the Riviera again, the clutch did cut in and off for some time, but not steady. I did add another can of Freon, but it still did not run steady nor did it get cold. I do have the shop manual and am trying to figure it out.
  4. Hello, I'm still in trouble with the a/c on my '81 Riviera. It seems I did recharge the Freon to the proper pressure, but no luck in getting the clutch to engage on the compressor. Also, there is no active live wire to the clutch, even after putting the controls in the correct setting. Fuses are ok. I tried to run power directly to the clutch, but nothing happens. Now what? I appreciate any assistance. It's getting very hot and humid here in Massachusetts!
  5. I'm unable to get my a/c running on my '81 Buick Riviera. I tried to recharge the system to the proper pressure with the current Freon. The compressor does not kick in. I tried jumping power directly to the clutch, but nothing happens. Also, there is no live power in the wires to the clutch with a/c controls in the proper setting. I'm stuck and it's very hot here! Any help appreciated!
  6. My Buick Riviera with 307 engine air conditioning doesn't want to cool air. The compressor just clicks, but won't go on. I put 2-3 cans of R12 in. Still no go. Any ideas??

  21. Thanks for the interest in my 1969 Buick Electra 225 convertible for sale. Yes, the distributor, air cleaner chrome top and I guess the coolant recovery are not stock. No there is no problem with overheating. Those items were installed by the restorer about 5 years ago. I purchased this car from the next owner after restoration. He put less that 1000 miles during that 4 plus years. To the best of my knowledge, this Buick is otherwise stock. I hope it can go to the next appreciative owner soon. Thanks,John

  23. Thanks for the interest. My Buick has gone 118,000 careful miles, but only about 2000 since restoration in 2001, I think. I say almost perfect to indicate some small imperfections- minor scratches, small dime size repair in seat surface, bumpers have minor dents on 2 corners, but that's about it. It is a wonderful car to own and drive!
