Hi Barney
You sold the wheels with out any warrantee what so ever
now that being said, you were selling the wheels and not
the freight. the freight is the cost of purchasing an item
off the web or in the mail. unless the cost of transportation was part of
the deal and you are willing to refund the cost of the wheels to your customer
he would be resposible for the return freight also. you are not in the freight
business. question, if you got a book from the book of the month club and you wanted to return it who pays the postage or freight. the transportation charges are just a cost of doing business. i would return his money for the wheels, but thats just me, but the cost of the freight, no way. if you refund the wheels wait to send the money until you have the wheels back. this is a case of the buyer not knowing what he is doing. but we have to be kind to the less smart in our midst.
just my 2 cents worth

hey i am 6'3' tall an have an 89 with a sunroof and
with the seat all the way back and down as far as it will
go i still have a little headroom and it has not been a problem
so go ahead and live a little it will be ok and you will fit
-
i think the 6 way and the 16 way seats are the same
on the back do you have any blue ones
-
i need any ones help in locating a part for my seats
my interior is blue 16 way seats but the part i am looking
for is a hard plastic part that goes on the back all the way
on the bottom it is really a cover for the bottom of the seats.
it is about 2.5 inches in width and as long as the back of the seat,
and it is held in place by two screws. the same part is on both seats
so side doesnt matter. any help in would be appreciated you can post here
or contact me at igor@wichitausa.com thanks
i also have a pair of seats from a red and tan car for sale these seats
came from a donated car and are like new they are 16 way. there are no tears
and are in great shape. i rescued them from a car that was going to the crusher
and i didnt want them destroyed. i can furnish photos if there is any interest
the vin on the car was 1g4ec11c2jb900122 on an 88 model

barney regarding sizes
i have taken measurements and here is what i found
the 1989 reatta had a fold over owners manual cover
approx 9"x5 1/2 black leather top fold with the owners
manusal being 8 1/2 x 5 1/4 with the fold to the left side.
the gm maintenance schedule for passenger cars was appx
7 3/4 x 5 1/4 in 1989 and in 1990 the maintenance schedule book
was 7 1/2 x 5 which is the same size as the hole in the middle of
the zippered case that was available for 1990 and 1991. with those
numbers, the 89 or maybe the 88 would not fit in the zippered case
which would mean that the owners manuals were 2 different sizes or
the 89 was not meant to be in the zippered case. maybe you could find out the
rest of the story from buick when you go to flint. i hope that this makes
sense..thanks
-
barney does that mean that there are 2 sizes of owners manuals
also. the manual for the zippered would have to be smaller to fit in
area below the flap that had the signatures on it, my owners manual would not
come close to fitting in the area provided in the zippered case what do you think. ????????

there is not much information available about the flashlight,
tire guage and the pen. were all three of these items part of the car
from the beginning or was the tire guage and flashlight only available on the convertible, there dont seem to be many around. who out there knows??? the pen came with my 89 so i know that part is right. there also seems to be a difference in the owners manual covers, mine is the fold over kind with the pen and others have the zippered case again what year did all this take place.
thanks but everyone needs useless information that could be important in the future

i had the same problem and my lights would only come on
when i pressed the fog light switch. i pulled the light
switch on the left side of the dash and i had shorted wires
where they had rubbed togather, so i taped them off and took the
switch apart which is a simple job, cleaned up all of the contacts and
presto no more problems. now they all light including the lights on the console

i know that there has been several posts on insurance
coverage for reattas and i was wondering if anyone had ever
done business with classic automobile insurance in indianapolis
indana. i have requested info from a lot of companys and they are
the only ones who seem to be interested in doing anything for a car
that is not 20 years old. is there any info out there about this company
they are cheaper than my everyday ins company
any help would be appreciated
thanks
-
jim it couldnt have been a wanna be they would only
use color duct tape to match the car as close as possible.and
usually the stick on price lable from eddie b is still attached
no. it had to be a redddddddneck. they always use gray. see a lot
of that kind of thing here in kansas..

16 way seats. 53840 miles with all the books and window sticker. protected

-
on the back of the remote where the battery goes in
there is a black small gasket that keeps the cover tight
and seal out mosture like an o ring..mine is gone and the
battery cover then turns and then falls off. i have looked all
over for that little part but with no luck. does anyone have any ideas
a simple thing causes so much grief
thanks

2 or 3 inch wide strip of plastic that runs at the very bottom
where the seat fits against the carpet. if you dont mind see if
that part is there and let me know if it is for sale and how much
mine is broken and needs to be replaced. the plastic piece is blue also
