  1. there were indeed 4 Select 60's. Every meet I have ever been to there were never 4 of them. There was 3 in Ames. The fact there was only 2 Red cars is unbelievable. There was not a blue car either. We usually get at least one maui. I just got home this morning after hitting rain and wind and small hail, plus a road crew working with the old black tar, so now mine is several shades of brown.

It was a super meet and it is really nice to meet you west coast guys and can put a face to a name on the fourm. This was a very nice meet, and an easy beautiful drive. total of 3900 miles.

  2. .I was at a gas station in my 90 getting gas. I left the car running to keep the AC running to keep my wife cool. ..ok guys not looking for any comments about that. In any case when I removed the gas cap the car just sputtered and died. It was not showing hot and started after a couple of cranks. Is this something that is normal? The other issue is the cruise control quits from 75 mph and higher and it is hard to reset for an hour or so. Any advise?

    Thanks

  3. Have a safe trip Chuck. I hope no one was hurt in that crash. Seems we are at your front door today. Stayed in Evanstown last nite. Beautiful state ahead of you

No one hurt in wreck according to web report.

Needless to say an interesting day. Got slowed down for another wreck a roll over didnt look good some NASCAR Toyota team members has things well in hand waiting for the law and medical folks. Got slowed later smoke from a fire in the hills watching the choppers doing water drops and then by a heavy storm lots of rain and small hail. Put up for the night in Twin Falls Id. Gonna goof off a bit tomarrow and head for Portland early Wed. See everybody then.....

  4. Heading west this am about 650 miles, got tied up for a traffic jam for an accident of a Semi hit the bridge, went up in smoke finally made it to Cheyenne Wy tonite. Hole up for the night, didnt know this was Cheyenne Rodeo week end. Going to take 2 more days to Portland. Hopefully get to Portland late Tuesday or early Wednesday:p

  5. This was a super nice month for the Bugle. I also like the old history of old dealerships, and the people who ran them. It would be nice to hear from some customers who purchased cars from them.

Totally agree with Mike on the scoop of what is happening on the forum. Pete did something on that in the past and it was always interesting. There is a wealth of knowledge there.

  6. That's why we need to be factual. As our cars get older the embellishments just become facts. This dealer should be corrected that there is no such thing as a 90th anniversary car. It is a nice looking car and I hope the new owner seeks out the facts of his new purchase. Somebody close to Cleveland Ga should swing by the dealer and give them a copy of the Bugle and see if they will put it in the car. I cant believe an honest dealer would want to spread mis information

  7. Hey Dave my intent was not to call anyone out, I perhaps should have used other language, My intent was to simply use the rotary phone as an example of how the Reatta bunch have a good time with or without an up date to the web site. Ronnie I am sorry if that is the way it sounded. Sometimes words just get in the way. We just need to find a web master. I dont think it will take much time.

  8. I for one dont want to call anyone out on the fourm but a large percentage of folks posting here are not and have not been a member of the BCA or Reatta division. Being a critic is the easiest job on the face of the earth. Its a good club and everybody gets along very well. The club is about friendship and having a good time. Those that dont belong simply miss out. Print this out and keep it under your rotary phone, it will be the most fun you will have today.

  9. This car is no stranger to eBay. If memory serves, it was listed at one time for $18,000 (by the same owner). With a city called Hauppauge, some things are hard to forget.

Wouldn't this car be better served at an auction (especially if it has added value?).

Ervin I remember this car being for sale a long time ago but I thought the seller was looking for less that the 18 figure. I thought it was around 12 but its been several years. There is no way of figuring the value of something like this, it would not make a good daily driver, and it has no special interest except maybe a museum piece. I think to me it would be the value of a like new used car.

It would take somebody that just wants to put in the garage as a show car. just my 2 cents. interesting car

  10. I first met Jim and his wife at the Rochester meet. He was a very smart guy and his black coupe was a shining example how a Reatta should look

Sorry to her of his passing RIP Jim

  11. Last years calendar was first class. Really a nice item would make a collectible for the future. I just ordered another one this year, hangs on my office wall and on a really snowy cold day in the middle of winter, it represents better days

  12. Just an fyi for anyone looking for a nice convertible. Fast Lane Cars in St Charles Mo. has a 62 Convertible for sale. It looks like a nice car from the photo. I dont have an interest in the car and have not seen it. I just saw it on the website. Looks like it would be a cool car for a Buick Guy

  13. I have to say that your cars everytime I have seen them always look better that most Reattas that I see from time to time. A Reatta in really great conditiion will always attract attention

Your cars are always clean even in the middle of the winter and its snowing.

I appreciate the standard that you set.

  14. I have never put much faith in oil additives, but several mechanics lately have told me about XADO. Has anyone used it and what is the results. Can you tell a difference.

    Any imput would be appreciated

    Thanks

  15. Ed, good idea, but first we gotta get this thread through the elections.:D I'll keep that in mind as a possible new thread. Thanks

I would love to see more participation from the general membership on here. There was a short period of time when Pete would include a paragraph or two in each issue of the Bugle about an interesting thread that was running on here. That also included the website address. I have been wanting to bring back that practice by sending him monthly items he could use. I think one problem with that is the time span between when a thread may be running on here and when the Bugle would "report" it. Another thing I would like to see happen at all the nationals banquets is when all the chapters are being recognized, that the forum be recognized and all the forum members in the audience and in particular the person who received that years Buick Man Award asked to stand and be recognized. Can I get an OORAH on that and possibly a current or running board member to support it. :D

I totally agree that chapters and regions should be recognized at the Awards Dinner. Just a word about the fourm, a lot of Buick owners do not even know about it because it is not part of the BCA. It is owned by the AACA and we are their guests. I read the posts until it gets real negative then I move on. The fourm has a lot of value as long as the hate and discontent dont surface.

Lets keep it friendly and factual. I see from time to time that board members are not available, Well my number is 316-655-1099 or booreatta@cox.net nuff said

  17. ol yeller. From what I see about your car in the photos it looks great. About the grey caps, almost every car in the late 80 and early 90 had a grey cap on every dinky spare tire in the trunk had a grey cap. They are everywhere. Barney is a good source for them and he is also a good guy. I always have a good time and try to make every national meet that I can. The Seattle meet was a good time except for the rain on judgement day....

    Dont forget your fire ext.

    See you guys in Portland

Remember slow down, dont txt and enjoy the ride
