  1. EDBSO you're a genius. As said by virtually everyone before, you find the coolest products. It sounds as though I could probably prep and apply this stuff in a manner comparable to when I'm at the coin operated car wash . But I figure I'll put a little more effort into any kind body work atleast. Sounds like a good idea to apply underneath the car prior to rust proofing too. My seats are still almost as good as new since using that rejuvenator oil, filler, and cleaner, and I just smeared that stuff on. In retrospect i don't know why i didn't get the dye at the time.
  2. Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy! After buying my cheapy Reatta, with 2 small rust spots (both by the rear wheel wells), I did as intended and had the rust repaired and the car repainted to make sure that it would remain a super nice looking vehicle. And on top of that it got rust proofed, and Protecta Shined. Almost one year later, just after having the whole rust proofing done again, the day after I notice 3 small and hardly noticeable (I was looking over the car really closely) rust bubbles. I realize rust work isn't guaranteed, should I get it repaired the same way again, or again and again and again, now or later? A better body shop maybe? Is there a way to go to non corroding plastic or fiberglass. What bodyshops would you recommend? I'm not disappointed with my bodyshop yet, they told me it may come back. (they only charged me $200Can for rust repair, paint was $500 and ofcourse stickon pinstripe $40 i think) I was certain with all that I have done that I had it beat. Also how fast should I deal with paint chips?
  3. Who's angry? I read this forum all the time. The last little bit of "confusion" was like half a year ago and the matter was resolved. How long ago was this? Whats wrong with drinking beer?
  4. Although its not cool with people behind you, i find that I get the best mileage when I drive 76km/h in the city (low low RPM and overdrive stays in) and 96km/h on the highway. City cruising stays near to 7-8litre/100km, and highway 6-7 litres/100km, some times 5 but i think that downhill has a little to do with that. Today I added a little more air to the tires cuz of it being colder and gas is up. I liked the pressure they were at before (34+psi), the routine at the gas station was something similar to doing CPR with the compressor. 6 count for front, 3 count for back. The tires are 215 LEMANS. I got 8/100km today doing 50km/h.
  5. Thanks Reatta_Cruzin, I hope it doesn't come to that. It really is cold this year, last time I checked the weekend forecast the lowest temperature posted was 3oC. Its already snowed like 4 times. I thought I was being a little cautious leaving the lights up. It seems like I see a Reatta other than mine in the area twice a year max. My gf happened to see one like mine a couple days ago. I have yet to see the same car as mine. Good for me cuz they are like impossible to find, bad cuz it'll probably be mine he finds.
  6. You're an ASS. I don't totally disagree but those rims weigh 17lbs. Listen, if you come here, i hope you know its already winter and IF the cops find you after you mess with the Reatta you'll be in deep trouble, so just relax and I'll complement you on your username. OK?
  7. FastBastard!!! Whats my name [censored]? Thats right you come here and I'll fart on your head.
  8. Actually Anonymous, I did mean to call you MAGGOT , I meant it as MAGGOT and nothing else. You should take a chill pill. How are ya going to get me anyways your car is as slow as mine. Sucka. See a shrink!
  9. Eeeew! I feel so dirty, so used. . . That dude took the time to memorize all our names, it was like he was observing this forum for a while. I think we have a stalker here. FBI should've known earlier. OKAY!! LISTEN YOU MAGGOT!!! YOU DO NOT BLASPHEM THE NAMES OF: Barney Eaton; bcfoster; bigsteviejoe; bobwhite; Buick Mike; Charlie B.; checkers; Consultants_1; Copper81; CReichert; curtislt; Dolores; EDBSO; Emme; GM Ross; harpe; Howard; IGottaReatta; jchudyk8383; jjroverholdings; JLK52055; joereatta; KHowie; Klasicfan; made42; mccrackenr; MNREATTAGUY; NCBRIJEN ; nic walker; Nittany; padgett; pal1955; pogonuts; prakash raja; RawjaNYC; reatta1; Reatta_Cruzin; reattasteve; RED891; Robert Fletcher; stknflrda; tama sioux; TINKER; Vincent Vega; voucher2001; Wally 888; wufibug; XvSlim; 2seater and including RedReattaRuss. YOU TREAT US WITH RESPECT!!! AND THAT IS. . . AN ORDER.
  10. Its good to hear that you're going to improved headers. I've been reading more and more on cams and exhaust these days. Significant gains from the headers.. . and no cat. 0-60mph in 7 flat seems conservative. I think the car is more likely to do 0-60 in 6.5 seconds. Is there any concern about the tranny's durability?
  11. Okay I have a 24bitmap image. I don't have a personal website so, if you'd like to see and post this modified hood on the forum, just give me an email address that I can send this to.
  12. I have an idea for a custom hood. This actually a shape for a hood scoop. Probably doesn't require another hood unless you want something lighter. You know how the modern day Mustang has kind've a raised hood scoop like many others. How about something similar, but not raised, from the profile it would look unchanged, nice 90 degree corners, just a line going across would be the opening, with instaed of the back being raised, the front part of the hood scoop is pushed down, flat and square edges. I may just draw it. Not sure where the clearance is, cuz it just popped into my head.
  13. What does a 15inch Reatta Rim weigh with the center cap on? Does a taller 17 inch rim and lower profile tire have more or less inertia. I've had my eye on Ronal R25s for a while. Is there a better/prettier performance rim? Not sure which of the 2 would make a lighter wheel.
  14. Looking more at these bilge blowers, they are cheap design. As mentioned before, just a minor power assist for air induction. Direct drive is a bad design. The fins of the bilge are light, while the armature is not. Overdrive pulley design. Just a crazy thought, how about a motor off a Ruby (industrial) juice machine and give it an alternator of its own. . . As to my previous guess to HP, maybe not a change in top HP, but more air sooner, making a quicker Reatta. Does A.S.G. still exist? (4.9litre, 280hp motor maker) The website is still up. A while back I wrote them, I didn't receive anything.
  15. How loud are they? Can it be heard with the engine on?
  16. Okay I'm was going to say 8, but then I wanted to say 6-8hp, so I'm going to go with my final guess. . . 7hp increase. Are these timed runs? I hope it works atleast as well as the K&N air filter.
  17. Thankyou for your insight Padgett, Don B. and Trofeo. I love that website. Too bad its so hard to find. I'm bookmarking it. I remember seeing that Trofeo. It was under the cstoms section. Painted Yellow motor. I remember they claimed it had 270hp. I thought it was the 4.6. I didn't think it looked so good. Not the Trofeo style. It was like someone crossed it with an Integra. Its good to hear that somethings seem possible. I asked about going to a 95 Riviera BCM, cuz I recently seen the interior of a 95, and wasn't sure if the dash was changed for the series 2 motor. The controls had a style similar to non-touchscreen Reatta. I remember there was an issue that the digital dash may not read propery cuz the different ECMs would make the BCM think that the car was doing 255MPH, and therefore display 255MPH on the dash. I don't know why, I should bite my tongue i guess, but I was watching Hi Rev Tuners, and I got the idea from Hi Rev Tuners to hack the dash, and switch over to a compatable dash that would work with the more up to date BCMs that will work with the OBDII ECMs. So I had an idea of changing the dash over to 95Riviera Electronics to make everything work. I think iremeber something being said about a 4.9 Reatta that lost functionality of its digital Hvac controls, not sure if it was becuse there was no room for the A/c to go under the hood, or the touchscreen just couldn't communicate to the computers responsable for controlling those functions. I do remember that they lost the cruise control function. Hows the SC Reatta working?
  18. At the risk of going on about this topic at nausea, I'm going to ask the following: 1)By now all has seen the ad about the electric turbo. I feel that there are mild benefits from this product, even though I have never actually tested the product. Good air supply all the time. How about a converted (heck it is) leaf blower? Could a leaf blower mimic a turbo? A leaf blower hooked up to a CAI through the wheel well. Heavy duty leaf blower perhaps? With cam change and a less restrictive exhaust. 2) Is it impossible for the C motor ECM to run a SC series 2? Whats the restriction? 3) Did Swiftly's 4.9litre Reatta have a working digital AC? What displays or functions were lost? 4) If the C motor ECM was left in, and another ECM was used to run the engine, what would be needed to get a the digital tach to work, if it could work? 5) Can a Rivieria 95, or later model Riviera's BCM work with the ECM of a Northstar? 6) Will there be any possible functionality with the Touchscreen after someone has started running another BCM? Can 2 BCMs be utilized? 7) Can either of the desired hot rod motors Northstar or SC series 2, be modified so that they work on the same sensors as the C motors'? Possible? 8) Can the Reatta be reprogrammed to run more fuel, in the event that an electric turbo would work? I'm trying to get all or most of the answers to Reatta hotrodding on one post. I would like to keep the Touchscreen and gages, but I noticed that the "instrumentation" in the Riviera looks hitech enough. If i could not run the Air conditioner cuz of such mods, I'd consider the Riviera's HVAC controls. Some cutting, some fitting, some relocating who knows.
  19. They have 50 postings for electric turbos on Ebay. Check it out.
  20. I always wondered something like that would work. I think to get any real results the electric turbo would have to atleast have 540 size commonly found in 1:10 scale RC cars, a good one goes for $60, typically makes 1/3hp (does that mean that it'll at best increase HP by 1/3 HP?) and a gear drive to reduce motor RPM and big 12 guage wires. Not sure what the amp draw would be, and how hard it would be on the alternator. Lots of maintenance. Good for short use. Or an Avonex Brushless motor with similar setup. They make like 3 times the power and require less or no maintenance. The key is a gear drive. Brushless motors require there own programmed Electronic Speed Contol. It would cost like $600 for a brushless motor electric turbo setup.
  21. I'm contemplating it. I want the car to accelerate faster. Off the line the car is good, its just it seems it has nothing top end. If this is going to focus on making the car more lively 60MPH-120MPH, then I will. Example: I think my family sunfire (base 4 speed) is more lively accelerating in the 100MPH area. The Reatta I didn't have enough time to get there without risking getting nabbed. I backed off about 3 MPH shy. After looking at the S&S site, I have a better understanding what tuned exhuast addresses, symptoms the Reatta has (no point for the downshift cuz it can't rev worth a darn). What kind of results are you expecting as far as engine HP & torque, high and low RPM EDBSO? I rode in a 95 standard Civic, and an old box Prelude and both had considerably more pull with the tuned exhaust. So many other success stories.
  22. I haven't seen anything on the 90 Red Reatta that the guy engine swap to, since the new format. Last thing I remember was the issue of tire/fender gap. Is there any unsolved problems that the guy is facing with the computers? There was also Reatta 270 hp Northstar conversion (way back), that seemed to dissappear. I do remember seeing a 270 hp 90 Trofeo on Ebay a while back. Just curious, i read these posts all the time.
