1. thanks, Stan, maybe that would explain why the '91 green in the dealer order guide looks like it was covering something else up.
  2. it should be just adhesive. the easiest way to repaint these is to place on a piece of cardboard, and spray the whole thing. let it dry, and go back with a cloth with lacquer thinner, and carefully wipe the chrome letters off. it will look like new.
  3. my 1991 buick dealer order guide shows no driftwood available for a reatta, and neither does my PPG paint usage guide. is my dealer guide incorrect?? does anyone have a '91 driftwood??
  4. Robert,
go check our web site at www.buickreattaparts.com our tops are considerably cheaper than that! we can even have the top direct-shipped to you or the upholstery shop. should cost about $250-$300 to have it installed.
thanks, Mike
  5. Monica,
please email me at reattadudes@aol.com we've got many of the parts you are looking for, and have an identical "keeper" to yours. there were only 360 driftwood coupes manufactured, and it was a one-year-only color. congratulations!!

    bumper trim

the easiest and cheapest way to repair a damaged bumper impact strip is to go to a new car dealer's used car department. ask for a name and number of the company that does the repairs on their used cars. they are mobile, and show up at the dealer on specific days. they will bondo the damaged area, and respray the entire impact strip. this is exactly what a body shop would do, at a fraction of the price. expect to pay about $80. two other useful services to investigate that dealers use are paintless dent removal, and airbrush paint blending.
I live in phoenix, and you see these trucks on the road every day. you will find these services in any major city.

    Door Pull

there is a bolt which holds the strap to the door. if its not in the back of the strap, you might want to look next to the seat, and see if its fallen there. when you put the bolt back in, (10mm) just loop the vinyl over the bolt to cover it up. while you're at it, tighten up the front bolt; I'll guarantee its loose, too. the door panel is held on by the most ingenious fastners I've ever seen; they're pretty much idiot-proof (I should know!) if their looseness is relatively recent, its probably connected to the loose door pull. just push gently, and they should go right back in, just make sure you get the top of the door panel under the black channel molding. hope this helps.

  10. thank you, Mr. Padgett, for sharing my sentiments exactly. have told a sililar story for years to people who bow at the Shelby altar. they, of course, never believe (or select to forget) that those cars were stones on the lot. in some cases, the dealers just titled them as the next model year.
the most collectible cars are ones that people forgot about when they were new.
