  1. Richard I talked to them. Nothing to worry about. I am in East part of Pa. Do not drive car a lot. Car is slightly over 300K. I have always changed oil and filter EVERY 3 months. Castrol GTX with AC Filters. First report just for fun. Now I have a baseline for future reports. Just wondering if I made a mistake changing Thermostat to 180. Will see what next few reports say and talk to Blackstone Labs before making any changes. This was just a experiment to see how this oil analysis works. You can do your ATF fluid as well! Charlie
  2. Just got my report via email and a Fax copy. All looks good according to them. Will save for a baseline for the future. Their was a very SMALL amount of water 0.1 that they said was nothing to worry about. Their was NO antifreeze present.
  3. I just sent a sample off to Blackstone in Ft. Wayne Indiana just for the heck of it. Requested the works. About $33.00.
  4. Optional Oil Filters. Boy I remember that. Optional heaters as well! 100K on my slany 6 Mopar and it was a oil burner back in the 60's Things change.
  5. Why look for trouble? You have no leaks! You are using a good oil and filter. I would just continue what you have been doing. My 2 cents
  6. Got a Felpro at Autozone. You can look up on line.
  7. I had a problem with Carfax entering the wrong mileage on one of my cars (what a mess) Seems some of the local dealers may get paid a fee from Carfax for suppling information. In my case I took my car into the dealer for service and the service writer entered the wrong mileage. This got sent to Carfax and it was up to me to correct. What a mess! You can decrease the value of a fine car if it looks odometer it is tampered with.
  8. Do you have to own a Reatta to join? I consider myself a Reatta enthusiast. I get most of the information for my 1989 Riviera from the Reatta board. I do belong to the ROA (Riviera Owners Association) Does this help? The help for my 1999 Riviera is limited. Thanks Charlie

    Mystery Fluid

We use to have a 1989 Olds Calis 3.0 V-6. I was filling the radiator after draining the cooling system. The car was idling as I filled it will coolant. I walked away and the coolant shot up and went on the Serpentine belt. The belt wraped around the Harmonic balancer and ruined the sensor. Had to have the car towed to shop for repairs
  10. Seems like the topic may have changed a bit. Is their a procedure anyone can recommend for replacing the Rubber Grommet safely? Last time I had the intake manifold gaskets I had mine replaced. This seems to be a common problem thus good ideas would be appreciated.
  11. Most will sugest the Monroe Sensatrac. But I have a 1999 Riviera in my car collection. Just last month I replaced the fronts with OEM struts. Had to use the GM Locator to find them, Costs a lot more BUT now have the original Dynaride back to my 1999 Riviera. On my 1989 Riviera I had the Monroe's removed and could not find the OEM therefore settled for AC Delco. Ride is Ok. Better than Monroe. By the way I have the Monroe's advertised on the Buy Sell section. Monroe gave me 4 replacements since I was so unhappy with the ride. 71800 Fronts 71801 Rears (Air). I think the fronts will fit the early Reatta. Good Luck

Check the radiator cap I had one leak and the coolant got on the belt and it came off.
  13. Their is a guy on the Reatta Board who is the Technical advisor (Barney Eaton) I think he rebuilds them at a reasonable price. He is in Texas.

  15. Thanks for advising the results. Many times I follow these problems only to be left hanging. Good Luck
  16. In my case they were going to send me a prepaid shipping label to return to seller until I mentioned serial numbers were removed. Thus they said to take it to local Police Dept. Charlie
  17. The code is specific to the member. They were complete aware of my complaint as soon as they answered the phone. They also were aware that I was a good customer and had purchased 199 items with all outstanding feed back. The real problem is searching ebay for the telephone number, seems like they hide it. As info I conducted this business with ebay at 5PM EST on a Sunday afternoon. Charlie
  18. Hopefully you received my PM. Just sent. Charlie
  19. Sorry it must have gone into my spam folder and I did not catch it. I sent you a PM as well. You can try my e Mail again cfb11@prodigy.net Charlie
  20. I know a lot of people on this board purchase items from ebay. I have purchased over 200 items and never had a bad experience until last week. I purchased a Passport Radar detector for $86.00. When it arrived it worked for 1 day before it stoped working. The serial numbers were removed from the unit. I filed a dispute and the seller did not respond. I did a lot of searching on ebay and found a 800 number to call along with a security code to punch in once the phone was answered. I explained the situation to the ebay customer service rep and she immediately gave me credit for my $86.00 which included shipping. She advised me to take the unit to my local Police department. End of story
  21. Yes the newer ones, we traded the 1999 SLS on a 2008 STS and it requires Mobil 1. It is a V-6 so it does not have all those sealing areas on the lower end prone to leaking like the Northstars do
  22. If you like to discuss oil their is a website that I read on occasion bob is the oil guy
  23. It really "finds" leaks in the Northstar. Had the powertrain removed on a 1999 and a 2001 after switching to Mobil 1.
  24. Look at Rock Auto they have a nice selection of a lot of good brands.
  25. Thanks for posting final results. All to often this is not done and just leaves those following the post just hanging.Good Luck Enjoy your ride!
