  1. Stu Kinnenburgh I did this on my 90 Convertible, I would guess thatthey are all the same. I have a service manual for the 90, the door lock module info is on page10-6-11 It may also be in thr FAQ section of the forum. I found the plastic part of the switch was broken in the right side door, it is attached to the actual lock assy. Make sure you have the correct size and type rivets for reassembly. possibly you could use some small nuts and bolts. It is a time consuming job. Lots of sharp edges inside the door. GOOD LUCK
  2. There can only be one EDBSO And he is the humourous one from up north [color:\\"red\\"]
  3. It is real leather, you can tell by the way it wrinkles and cracks. A lot of folks have replaced panels with vinyl, doesn't look bad if it's done right. But it wrinkles in a different manner.
  4. I'm disappointed in the results. My boat is now out of the water and I was going to take the bilge blower out of it and put it on one of my Reattas Maybe I should just take one of those big GMs'out of the baot and stuff it under the hood. I'm sure that would answer the problem of lowering the front end. Charlie
  5. I use mobil regular. 87 octane. Took a 400 mile trip a couple of weeks ago and got 29.3MPG. That's even better than I get out of my 95 Riviera w/ super charger. Just love those little Reattas. Charlie
  6. Jim Enjoy your trip, especially the nice flat roads in Texas
  7. Curtis I ordered the STS-1 kit. Cost $65.00 . Well worth it. I really like the sequencing. Reminds me of a Cougar I had many years ago. Go for it , I'm sure you will like it. Charlie
  8. I bought a 94 Cavalier for my Grandson (he's 16yrs old). It is a 5 spd and runs great except that when you reach cruising speed it bucks, I have changed every thing I can think of, including swapping out the coil pack, and computer. Put in a new TPS, EGR. Plugs and wires, fuel and air filters. Nothing helps. I was hoping that some of the forum members (with much automotive knowledge)might have a solution. (I feel he's starting to think I'm a dummy) Please help me regain his confidence in me. Charlie
  9. Hi. Sounds like you want to sell it rather than junk it. If you give me a phone # and location I will drive to the Cape to see it, I really want a sunroof. Have two convertibles now. I'm not trying to corner the market, I just like these little cars. How much do you want for it? E-mail me ctbfo8@aol.com Charlie B.
  10. Installed sequential light system, Instructions were good, no real problems. And every thing works as it should. I think this is a great addition to the Reatta. Everybody that has seen them working likes them. ME TOO. I would recommend them. It adds to the elegance of the Reatta Just be careful when removing the tail lite assy, don't scratch the body panel or bumper, Suggest a blanket or other kind of protection while working back there.
  11. I guess I have to agree with JJ. I know I'm retarded, I own two Reatta Converts. That should be proof enuff.
  12. You are all wrong, The R is just a central letter in cha R lie
  13. Curtis, THANK YOU Charlie B.
  14. To JB in NC. How can we get in touch with Cabrio World in New Jersey? I can't find it on the internet.
  15. Please send me a copy of "Barneys' headlite fix" ctbfo8@aol.com Thanks, Charlie B.
  16. Howard Glad to hear that you were unscathed by "Lili".So the Reatta and the Mk II stayed dry. It would be a shame if they were dash deep water. I'm willing to bet that your MkII is pristine. My sons car is very nice but not "Pristine" Needs a dash cover and he just told me he found a large puddle of trans oil on the garage floor. I pray it's not a front seal. So you spent a couple of days in my home away from home.(Dallas) Not a bad town if you don't mind a lot of traffic. That seems like a long ride just to get a room. It's nice to have you back. Charlie
  17. GOMER Listen to your father, he is smarter than you think. Read the posts from yesterday about performance up grades from reluv. There is a lot of good advice from a few very knowledgeable people. Remember, you are not driving a very strong TRANSMISSION. Save your money, the car is fast enough as is and will more than likely take most of the rice rockets your friends are driving. (much safer too)
  18. The seat is easy to remove, only four bolts (2 in front and 2 at rear, just move the seat all the way to the forward position to get to the rear bolts and then to the rear position to see get to the front bolts, then tilt the seat so you can undo the wiring. (2 wire hook ups.) If you raise the seat all the way up,You might be able to undo the cable shafts from the motors without removing the seat, and then with the cable inserted in the side that is stuck you can turn it by hand to move it to the proper position. I have done this on my 90, and it was easy. Hope this helps. Charlie B
  19. Charlie B.

    pull strap

SORRY<, that was supposed to be 10 mm bolt, One at each side of the strap.

    pull strap

Find the tem MM bolt that fell out and replace it.
  21. Good luck with the storm, I spent a lot of time in the NOLA area after hurricanes, and Biloxi too. I was an auto appraiser for an insurance co.I realize what power the winds and water have. They send so many nice cars to the salvage yards. Any way , you mentioned a Lincoln MKII. Have one at my disposal when I visit Dallas. One of my sons is nice enough to let me drive it.He won't let most people get close to it. Great car, and it gets more attention than ten Reattas, Every time we go to a valet parking set up, they always park it in front of the main entrance. I guess the management is just looking to class up the joint. I knew from previous correspondence with you that you are a "CLASS" guy with great taste in autos. God Bless and good luck. Keep your powder (and every thing else) dry Charlie B
  22. I have a 90 Convertible with 71K, Great condition but will need a top in the near future. ($750.with heated window, plus installation) Iwould sell it for the $9650 book price. I just took a 400 mile trip in it and got 29.7 MPG. No oil consumption and steady as a rock on the road, about 70/75 MPH all the way. I was proud of the car on this trip. EDBSO saw it in Vermont and said he liked it. And he is a real Reatta buff. I complained about the top and he said I have"nothing to be ashamed of". The top is serviceable but has some nicks in the piping. White, white top, Black mouldings, grey interior. Bought it in Dallas, Tx. and drove it home to Ct. (1850 miles at 70mph.) Again no problems, it really runs great. I did have the brakes flushed before I drove it home.I have been driving it every day and love it. But who needs two convertibles?
  23. Thank You Barney, BTW, I just submitted a post in reference to the Car cover that I rec'd very quickly and I love it. Good quality , perfect fit. I like doing business with you. Charlie B.
  24. Just bought a car cover from Barney, It came in good time was a perfect fit and I like it very much. It came UPS, S&H Incccluded. Great Transaction. Barney is the BEST> Of course all TEXANS are the best. The cover name is "NOAH" Charlie B.
  25. Just looking for opinions. I will be replacing the top on my white 90 "Vert" and would like to get thoughts from the forum folks about the material. Should I go for vinyl (Like original) or fabric. I understand the fabric tops look very nice. But I also think the original (White) looks good too. The car is white with white mouldings and burgandy interior. I would appreciate the thinking of true Reatta lovers Re: material and color. Charlie B.
