THANK YOU,I pulled off the upper door panel,so i could see the clips,pushed on the center of the clip with a small screw driver ,gently pulled on the garnish molding and it popped right off.Dont you love it,one molding had 2 clips the other had 5.Thanks again for your time,diz

Dear Froggie,Buy a cheap camera and keep it at the garage.Take as many photos as you can,it really helps when you want to put it back together.Keep a spiral bound notebook,good notes during dis-assembly are priceless.Depending on how far you are going to go,it is going to take some time,be patient,try to picture in your mind the finished product,stay focused,there will be times when you wonder if you will ever be done.Stay focused and you will get through it and remember it is supposed to be FUN.diz.

Dear OC,Had a 41 Zephyr 3-window and there were screws around the perimeter of the door frame.on the 39 there are no such screws either around the door frame or thru the molding!Hard to believe it isnt re-movable.THANKS diz

We are in the process of re-upholstering our 39 Zephyr 3-window coupe.I took off the windshield garnish molding only to discover the dash is NOT removable.My next move was to re-move the door panels only to discover the garnish molding around both side windows is not removable.Am i missing something?I dont want to pull on them too hard,maybe thats why the door panel is in two pieces.Any and all advice is welcome,THANKS diz

My favorite ,bolting freshly painted and plated parts on the chassis or body depending how far along you are.The worst is sand-blasting on a hot and humid day in August,Moisture in the line clogging everything up,i know we have all been their.Great to see Pete has calmed down,dont want to see him get bounced from this forum.I find his posts sometimes informative and ALWAYS entertaining,a breath of fresh Arizona air.I know it sounds a little crazy but i didnt get this nickname for no reason.diz

I get mad just reading about things like this,guy goes to Hershey to spend time with his pals and show off his car and ends up with nothing.Fifteen years at the drag races never any problems,always had a cut off switch on the tow vehicle and an electric tongue jack on the trailer that got put down when you left the track.diz

Linda, Before you do any needle work you must check out the dash of a 39 Lincoln Zephyr.I will send you one,they dont get any better.As to Burma shave signs,we went across the country every summer as a kid and it was always a treat to see them.That was in the early to mid sixtys.diz

WE restored our 37 Ford Phaeton over a three year period,put 2,000 miles on it to work out any bugs before tearing it apart.We ended up with a car too nice to drive,junior first at Hershey and nominated for a national award last year.Sold it to someone, for all the money who saw it at Hershey last fall.I bought a 39 Lincoln Zephyr coupe that i DRIVE as often as i can.There are many aspects of this hobby i mean obession that i truly enjoy.Searching for that next project,researching it,restoring it better than new,showing it off to people that know what it took and i am sure my favorite DRIVING it.No not everyday,the nice days are often enough ,not much is more enjoyable,It is truly something special,take a neighbor for a ride they will love you for it.Just a thought Diz

Cecil,I am 6',Plenty of head-room,even when i wear a hat to keep my bald head warm.Our 39 Zephyr 3-window coupe reminds me of sitting at the kitchen table,knees bent very comfortable.Diz

Carol,an electric pump is not needed if everything is working on your fuel system.An electric pump if left on all the time and not regulated will pump fuel through the carb. and fill the oil pan.Check your oil!!My advise is to eliminate the electric pump.If you leave the electric pump connected i dont know if the original pump is strong enough to pull fuel through it if it is not running.Just my 2-cents,Iam trying to be afriend to your bearings.Diz

I think the track deal would be a lot more versatile in regard to tying down different cars with different wheel-bases.The d-rings always seem to be in the wrong places unless you are always hauling the same car.Just my 2 cents,

I have been enjoying this forum since I finished the restoration on my dads 1937Ford phaeton. Showed it the first time at Hershey this year,junior first, nominated for a national award.Next year a Early Ford Dearborn,and back to Hershey for a senior.Click on Hershey photos for a closer look,hope you like maroone.h.v.s.sure sounds like a guy I would like to hang out with and have a few Molson goldens with.Thanks for your time. Gentleman,Do you really think the point spread is confusing?If you attend a Grand National meet YOU know YOU have a very nice car.YOU also know that there is always somebody out there that has a nicer car than YOU do,ALWAYS.If the nicer car shows up at the same meet than YOU go home with a second.YOU know the weak spots on your restoration better than anybody,you can fix them and try again or be happy with your senior.Just my thoughts,diz
