After replacing the coolant sensor, the problem remains. I'm still driving the vehicle everyday because I need to get around. What else could I try to get it running right?
-
That was my first diagnose, so I took out the thermostat, and that was a week ago. Even though the Thermostat is now out of the system, I still have the same problem. The coolant level is OK. My next guess was the temperature sensor but I Can't locate it on the vehicle. Is there one, and if so, where did thay place it?
-
My temperature reading seems to be spiking and returning to normal. When I start off it is OK, but within a couple of minutes it goes to 230F. I Know it cannot get that hot in a couple of minutes. After about 5 minutes it goes down to 222F for a few minutes and a few minutes later to, 163F. It is an 88 Reatta with 90,000 miles. What's going on?

What size fuse goes in #2. Exterior mirrors I believe. Can't find the info in my manual.

I need the headlight switch with the connector & wires (cut-off).
-
It was connected to the Radio fuse, which I had pulled. Go figure. All is well that ends well.

How do I get the GloveBox open if the button doesn't work?

Problem solved. The loose cigarrette lighter connector shorted out my headlight switch. My spare headlight switch works fine, but didn't before I replaced the lighter connector. Thanks to all especially Robert Fletcher.

No headlights whatsoever. Still can't drive at night. What's with the high beam low beam 20 amp breaker? Still no answer on that.
-
The hi beam Low beam breaker is yellow and is marked 20 Amp. Could it possibly need to be replaced?
-
What does the 20 amp breaker do? It's at the upper right of the fuse box. And how do you know if it is bad? :

My cigarette lighter wasn't working so I took things apart and found that the connector had come loose on the bottom. I reconnetted it and tried the light switch but it still didn't open the doors or light up. Then I tried the retract button on the console, and the doors opened up but the lights didn't light. At least I don't need the activator. I switched the relays and checked the fuses but no lights yet. The retract button will open and close the doors. What to do .......What to do .........

No, the switching of the relays didn't work. There is no coin in the lighter socket. I am guessing maybe the headlight actuator but dealer want's over $200.00 for it, so I can't just buy one on a maybe. Let me know if there is a way to disconnect the actuator and keep the light doors up and manually turn on the lights when needed.

The diode looked O.K. but I replaced it anyway. That didn"t help. I then manually lifted the doors via the knobs in front of the headlights. When I pushed the button for the lights, they went on. I drove to my destination thinking I had everything under control. Got there, shut off the lights and the motor for about 30 minutes and stopped worrying. When I started it up, the lights never went back on again, even after manually raising the doors and trying to get my lights back on. I just need to drive at night. Any ideas?

The headlights closed and opened a couple of times soon after I turned them on as if to be blinking. This happened over the course of last week. Last night, when I stopped for gas, the lights would not go up ( on ). I replaced the switch today but still no lights. Anybody ever had this problem with an 88 Reatta?

Is it possible for the transmission to leak from the top? Aamco Dealer wants $1100.00 to rebuild. This is on my 88 Reatta with only 62,000 miles on it. I told him to just change the filter and oil and I would get back to him. I have driven it 75 miles today, after the service, and it hasn't leaked yet, go figure.

Does anybody know what diagnostic # 26 refers to? The manual says "Quad driver module cirquit" , but then it doesn"t explain how to fix what-ever causes the ( service engine soon) light to come on. 1990 Riviera

Is anyone parting out a 1990 Riviera or know where I can get a headlight assembly and a grille from. Can't drive without lights.

Is there anything on the market for cracks and splits for the landau roof. Mine is starting to look like it needs some help.

What's the shipping charges to Rochester New York?
-
I need a set also, same color, do you still have them for sale at $200.00?
-
Economic feasability. I don't think so. The system is not supposed to leak. So technically, you would only need to add refridgerant after leakage. That means you have to have a sniffer (tool) to find the leak and then repair it.

They don't have a quarter-pounder in France.

Mine always needs a little push-up to get it to open and go back. It closes o.k. though. If it's not broke, don't fix it.
