1. Thanks for the reply, 1937hd45. Still, doesn't the phrase "majority of parts" leave the door wide open for later mods that clearly take away from the historic look or feel? How will such a phrase be interpreted?
 2. While, in general, I think this is a good idea, one phrase concerns me very much:
"Historical Hot Rods will be defined as a vehicle with pre-1949 body and a reconstruction date of 25 years or older. The year of construction has to contain a majority of parts that were available during that year."
Does this mean that the car could have been put into hot rod form in, say, 1960, but now have a modern brake system, electronic fuel injection, etc. -- as long as these later additions do not make up the "majority of parts"? Maybe I'm reading it completely wrong, but I don't see the reason for introducing this caveat. Maybe someone can shed light on the reasoning behind this.
 3. I would think 5K for a complete car (sans engine) would be a good deal.
 4. My original Ford shop manual covering 1938-40 describe Stromberg carbs, which makes me think they were available from the factory during those years (?) I then saw this ebay ad:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1838958920
Would a carb like this be show correct for the LZ? By the way, I don't have a Zephyr (yet! ), just trying to learn... Thanks.
 5. Well, finally got through by phone. Talked to a very nice lady, who is faxing me the form. I suggested to her that they might want to post the form to the web so folks could download it automatically. Keep your fingers crossed!
 6. Thanks, Bruce -- I looked through the site, and it had everything BUT info. on the car show. In fact, the one link about the AACA show is "under construction."
I have e-mailed them a message, but I don't hold out much hope. Whatta mess!
 7. I'm having a terrible time trying to figure out how to register for the Charlotte AutoFair show. The display ad in Hemmings says you must pre-register, but does not provide a registration form. In addition, the one phone number listed gives a three-minute message about flea market spots, then hangs up.
Can any one give me contact info., other than the pointless 704-841-1990 phone number? Thanks in advance.
[ 03-04-2002: Message edited by: Cecil Bozarth ]
 8. HVS --
I've never met you before, but keep up the good work! I am a newer, younger? (39) member of the AACA. While my first restoration was devoted to my first car, a 1966 Mustang GT, I really appreciate the older cars & would like to acquire one someday (God and wife willing) .
But in the meantime, the AACA can't afford to chase members like me off -- we are the future of the club. Unless, of course, the AACA wants to follow in the treadmarks of Packard, Studebacker, White, Cord, Stutz, Duesenberg, DeSoto, Franklin, Graham, Peerless ....
 9. Hello -
I've just completed a restoration on the first car I ever owned (1966 Mustang GT)and evidently didn't learn my lesson . Now I am looking for a new itch to scratch.
I've long loved the look of the 3-window Zephyr coupes, but know little about the cars. I know about the Lincoln-Zephyr club and its periodicals, but is there some comprehensive book(s) out there where I can start? Thanks in advance.
