Thanks Charlie, I've only seen green also. There is a repro top on EBay that's described as gray, the pix looks pretty gray also. Does anyone know who's selling the repro's?

Does anyone know if the plastic top on the 54 Ford Skyliners came in more than one tint/color? Thanks, Bob.

Any input on buying a car "by mail". what's some good procedures to use to keep form getting burned by a scam artist. I don't mean mechanical misrepresentation. I mean like someone taking your money and just not delivering anything.

Follow up post. I also worked the dents out so I only used a thin skim coat to level small dings. I would imagine a thick filling of deep dents would be inflexable leading to cracks. So far so good......Bob.

Not sure of what the packard used but I have a full "season" on my radiator with no sign of cracking. I used a premium polyesther resin filler. Anyone else have experiance here?

How about some more info on the optima "tar topper". I'm getting tired of shelling out $180 for a cheap P.O.S. that lasts 3 years but looks "correct"

It's advertised all the time in Hemmings under mixed make parts.

Painted Copper tubing will be correct. Core is painted with pretty much any black chassis paint. the biggest thing with radiators is most mechanics kneeled on them putting big dents in the thin brass. if you dont mind the expense have the tank removed by a radiator shop. Now is the time to have the tubes inspected for blockage and rodded out ( or perhaps a recore ). while they are doing that take the tank home and work the dents out carefully. you will not get them perfect but thats OK. when the rad is all back together treat it just as you would any sheet metal and use a thin coat of body filler to level the dented areas. Finish sand with 320 grit and paint. It will look like new........Bob.

I bought my model 884 in a scrapyard for the cost of it's weight ($10 ). My local jack repair shop ( yellow pages ) sold me a rebuild kit for $45 and xeroxed the exploded views and parts list for free. Pretty easy rebuild and it works like a champ. You will have to make some special wrenchs for the large packing nuts but no big deal. Google search for "walker jacks" says EMail
wmogrady@iserv.net for parts and paper work. Good luck..bob

There is a lip type rear main seal available now for 322/364 engines. Supposedly it can be installed without removing the crank. Anyone have any experiance with it?.........Bob.

For my 69 Vette I ground the distributer side of the coil through a hidden switch. Easy to do and no one will notice the xtra wire if done neatly.

Looking for a 53 or 54 Studebaker 2 door project car.

I did a 55 frame and underbody semi gloss black. No body color overspray. Car ended up with AACA Grand National Senior award, Buick Senior Gold. May not be 1000% correct but it works....Bob.
