Item for sale

    Idle swede,
Consider it a price advisory to my friends on the forum. No different then if someone was looking for a headlight switch and Parts-for-Less had it much cheaper then GM Parts Direct.
ronvb

    Headlight Motor

You can try: jfinn@computerpro.com as he has several parts cars and is reasonable to deal with.
ronvb
  5. cjdonches,
It sounds like a dead short somewhere either in headlight switch or wires running back to rear lights. Shop manual diagrams show a tailight relay for Riviera--not too sure if applies to Reatta-possibility? If not may want to check or test wiring on back ,possibly piched wire or corroded wire due to wet conditions-under carpet on thru trunk. Good luck.
ronvb
  6. cjdonches,
What fuse are you pulling-the parklight fuse?
When tailights are stuck on -are the front parklights on also?
Next time try to jiggle parklight switch in headlight switch module and see if it will shut them off?
I suspect headlight switch module but not positive. just my 2 cents.
ronvb
  7. cjdonches,
When you say tailights do you mean brakelights including the 3rd brakelight?
There have many posts about sticking brake light switches mounted at the pedal.Worth looking at?
ronvb
  8. billbuickgs,
The seller can determine the price yes, and it is wise to set the price high 1. if the seller has time to spare----or---
2. since most buyers like to feel they can talk price down before purchasing.
Ultimately the car is only worth what you can manage to sell it for in the time period you have to sit on it. my 2 cents worth.
ronvb
  9. Ecniv,
I don't know what year your Reatta is ,but I have a 90 and the rear turn signal bulb is a 2057.As far as the broken -fried bulb, you should probably pull the fuse or disconnect the battery and then get some needle nose pliers and grab hold of the metal base of the bulb and twist in the direction of removing (counter clockwise) and it will come out.The metal base of the bulb is soft metal so it will literally twist and pull out.Let's hope that the socket is salvagable at that point, installing the new bulb will tell you that.My 2 cents worth, hope it helps!
ronvb
  10. Happyowner,
A very wise man told me once that "if you want to know what a car is worth put a for sale sign on it and the public will tell you". Not everybody can wait for months to sell a car as priorities change and finances may prevail. In my area Reattas take some time to sell anyway, typically 2-3 months as most people do not know what a Reatta is. Just my 2 cents.
ronvb
  11. Lane,
The addition to your system sounds like a nice investment. My teenage son is after me to do the same to our '90 Reatta. We switched to a Kenwood am/fm cd with the face that flips around to a black hideaway panel. It may be time to go for the amp and some good speaker boxes in the trunk.
ronvb
  12. Could also be catalytic convertor or convertor shield coming apart and rattle noise traveling up or down pipe. Can pinpont by listening thru piece of rubber hose as moved to different locations of engine conpartment. just my 2 cents.
ronvb
  13. Checkers,
I was only guessing about the material of the pen, as I said I am missing that item from my portfolio.
And---if I had your money I would retire tomorrow!
  14. Oh well so much for that little brass plate!
It was a valiant effort though Jerry.-----------
But wait- this just in --the e-bay plastic pen is up to $30.53 currently!
ronvb
  15. Rawja,
I am afraid that I put Jerry up to that copy thing, because in my business we never give up an original. You know what the dealer will do with it---probably not much! Although the response could give Jerry and us a good chuckle! Just give it time Rawja and someone will come up with that official Reatta drool cup soon on e-bay. Look at Jfinn's Frankenstein- tape dispenser!
ronvb
  16. Jerry,
I'm still waiting to see what happened with your radio put-back-to-stock project?
You know it's funny you mention the cargo straps----when I first bought the Reatta--upon cleaning it up I found those straps still in the bag and almost threw them out.
ronvb

    Great forum!

    Sin ply Irresistible,
Good for you! Good job!
Your remarks about the banjo and you remembering that you had something to do - do it yourself had me laughing out loud at my desk!!!
thanks,
ronvb
18. Jerry,
What I have seen is that each year had a little different package for there owners manual. My 90 has a fine zippered leather bookcase with all folders, pamphlets, line tech sign-off card, manual, plastic temp keys and a place for pen,guage,mini-flashlight. Mine is missing the last 3-items.
Why don't you send in a photo copy of that card to the dealer--just to see the response you would get? I bet it would be similar to the lack of support they provide current Reatta owners with difficult problems.
ronvb
  19. Easily,
Pen cartridge is as full as manufacturer filled it,color of pen is black-typically ink is blue, and you can use it in either hand. -Or you can chew on it as you probably do when you are doing everyone elses taxes!
I only bring up a question to the forum to have some fun and considering the ridiculous pricing of parts and accessories for the Reatta to see what people would pay for it.
ronvb
  20. Gang,
I surf e-bay daily, for me it is a great source of information;part numbers-pricing etc.
Question: There is a Reatta pen on the auction currently up to $21.01-what is it really worth to a serious Reatta owner??
The original owners manual came with complimentary accessories en,tire guage, and mini-flashlight and are usually gone by the time the 2nd owner comes into the picture.
What is your opinion of what these accessories are worth?
ronvb
  21. Reatom,
Replace the brake light switch!
ronvb
  22. Jimd,
Nice Reatta, clean machine, did you redo the wheels?
ronvb
  23. Padgett,
I stand corrected '65 it is.I have had a couple L88 engines in the past.I used to like the small block chevies 283,327,302,350's but the 427/L88 and the 396/375 big blocks made a believer out of me.
I still like the look of the fastback vette though.
ronvb
  24. I reserve the right to vote again----------------how about a 1967 Corvette Stingray with a 427/435hp tri-powerset-up,and a 4-spd.
The first year for disc brakes for a vette too.
ronvb
  25. No-------- he's into flying so it must of flew off the page!
ronvb
