  1. Anybody parting out a '57 (or early '58)? Any model. I need a factory sway bar, and factory hardware. I don't care about the condition of the bushings, and I don't care about rust--I only need a straight front bar, and intact hardware. Thanks, -Brad
  2. Not sure--but if you take some pics of yours and send them to me, I can look and see if they're at least close.
  3. Thank you!! I've still got my '54... Life has taken several interesting turns in the last several years! (My life could use a good sway bar!!!)

  8. It's October 8-10 at the Atlanta Dragway in Commerce, GA. $100 for the whole weekend, ALL THE SPACE YOU WANT. Charlotte, Hershey, the Perry GA Swap meet have all canceled. We won't without a court order (which I do not anticipate getting, as we've had our monthly NE GA Swap Meet each month since May, with no problems at all). That said, IF we do get Covid-Canceled by the state prior to the event, we will fully refund every vendor's entry fee. All those other swap meets are keeping the entries and rolling them over to the next show... I can't do that and sleep at night. (I'm a BIG fan of sleeping comfortably!). So go to www.commerce3dayswapmeet.com and register with confidence!
  9. Pretty sure this is for '46-'48 Dodge. 29th Annual Edition. These are all in excellent condition. Grandma bought one new in '48, and this is the paperwork that she held on to. The owner's manual is pretty common on Ebay, but the rest of the manuals are a lot harder to come by. I'd like $50 shipped for the lot of them.
  10. Less than a dozen left, guys. I did shipping quotes for several people, and haven't heard back from them one way or another, so while there are 11 sitting on my shelf right now ready to ship, if those guys all pull the trigger, I'll have less than five left. So if you've been thinking about it, don't think too much longer! -Brad
  11. 14 left! A FANTASTIC winter upgrade project for you're '54-'56. If you've been thinking about getting one, don't think on it too much longer! You might miss your opportunity. -Brad
  12. One thing about an electric fuel pump--they often have more pressure than our carbs can handle. Make sure you get one rated at about 7psi (if I remember correctly). If you're running an electric pump, it's a good idea to install a fuel pressure gauge and, if required according to the gauge, a pressure regulator. -Brad
  13. Ether is "Detonation In A Can." I'd never use it on anything you care about. -Brad (it DOES work well for seating tires on rims, though! Shoot some in around the bead, toss a match at it and impress your kid )
  14. This was just a couple years ago, in my daily-driver '61 Suburban. 4spd manual trans with overdrive and 3.42 gears. I had to drive it in 3rd (1:1) to keep the RPM up. It ran lean like this, so it ran hotter than normal, but it didn't overheat. I pulled off the shoulder to figure out what was wrong, and two North Carolina DOT guys pulled in to see if they could help. I finally saw that the pin that holds the pump arm in the fuel pump, had come out, so the arm no longer had it's pivot, so the pump wasn't pumping. The pin was sticking out of the housing. We tried to get the arm back in (I carry a tool kit with me), but it wouldn't go without removing the pump. When I gave up on tapping the pin back in with a hammer, the guy said "Well, I guess you'll have to call for a tow truck." I said "Nah... I've got a zip tie." He looked at me like "WTF??" I zip tied the secondaries shut, fired up the truck, shut the hood and drove off with them both looking at me like "What'd he just do??" I learned that trick because of my '54 Buick! It died at a stop light and I couldn't get it to restart. A guy came over to help--he took off the air cleaner, flattened his hand over the top of the carb and said "Try to start it." I did and it fired up. He said "You're fuel pump is shot." That was all he said to me, but I figured out what he'd done, why it worked, and why it was always dying at stop lights unless I danced around with the RPM. 10 years later, it got me home in the Suburban! -Brad
  15. The mechanical pump is going to need to draw a vacuum, to pull the fuel up the line from the tank. One way to do this is to put your hand over the carb and run the starter. Or, as others have said, you can put a little gas down the carb and start it. The engine running a little on the poured gas will help create a vacuum to draw the fuel through the lines. (I once drove from Martinsville, Virginia to Atlanta without a fuel pump--wired the Secondaries shut on the 4bbl, and kept the RPM at freeway speeds, and it created enough vacuum to pull fuel past the dead mechanical fuel pump). -Brad
  16. It will be cheaper to ship to Florida. I'll get a quote to Sweden for you. Check with Mr. Earl here on the forum to see if he might have the trim pieces you're looking for. He mainly deals in '54 Buicks, but I think he has a '55 and a '56 parts car too. -Brad
  17. Hi Michael, I'm happy to ship them overseas. Send me your address and I will get a quote for you. I've sent a few to Europe and a couple to New Zealand and Australia. -Brad
  18. I have just 18 sway bar kits left, from my original stock of 50 kits. That's 32 VERY satisfied customers! If you've been thinking about ordering one (or more!) don't put it off. I MAY have another batch made, but if I do it will be a smaller quantity, and that's going to drive the price up. However, as of right now, I haven't decided if I will order another batch, in any quantity. So when these are gone, they may be GONE. -Brad
  19. Wow, thanks Mike! I appreciate the kind words! (I kind expect the kind words from Mr. Earl, since I de-squirrel his farm when my aim is good, but it's cool to hear it from someone else!) -Brad
  20. Let Santa put something under the tree for YOU! You deserve it! Shipped four out last week, and have gotten a ton of feedback from people--everyone is very happy with it. They've gone all over the US, Canada, the Netherlands, Australia and New Zealand. -Brad
  21. Three pieces of Buick literature. A 1928 tri-fold sales brochure. Colors are excellent on it. 1926 hard-cover factory shop manual. This isn't an original factory hard-cover: it's an original "Motor Car Operation and Care" manual that was bound into a hard cover. Contains wiring harnesses, suspension and engine maintenance and rebuilding, etc. Oil stained '27 shop/reference manual. $20 shipped anywhere in the lower 48 Will ship world-wide for additional shipping costs. PayPal or US Postal Money order.
  22. We're now having as many vendors lined up before the gates open and waiting to get in on Saturday morning, as we had TOTAL vendors at our old location. When we started the show at the Atlanta Dragway three seasons ago, our first show had 28 vendors and covered .75 acres. Last month we had over 220 vendors, and covered almost 8 acres. We're ten times bigger than we were. In the last two days I've heard from guys saying they're coming as spectators from Tuscaloosa Alabama, Charlotte, Knoxville, Chattanooga and southern Georgia, and vendors from Florida, Knoxville, and two guys from North Carolina have already come into town. -Brad
  23. The NE Georgia’s Swap is Saturday, August 9 at the Atlanta Dragway in Commerce, Georgia! We’ve averaged over 200 vendors every month this year. And that’s “vendors, with stuff for sale,” not “vendor spaces sold” like other shows advertise; while other shows make guys buy two or three or more spaces for their big set-ups, we give you all the space you want. They say “228 spaces,” which means “a lot less vendors than that.” We say “228 vendors,” and mean “228 guys selling stuff.” The attached pic is showing last month’s show: We had almost 8 acres of parts vendors, and over an acre of cars in the Cruise-in area. Vendor spaces are only $20 for all the space you want. Spectator entry is just $5. Vendor set-up is 7am, gates open to the public at 8:30. The show generally wraps up by 1:30, so get there early! I-85 to exit 149/Hwy 441. West on Hwy. 441, to the second light and turn left. First right, and follow it to the track. For detailed directions, go to www.georgiaswapmeet.com or www.atlatadragway.com If you would like to be on our monthly email reminder list, send an email to brad56@windstream.net. We have over 3,400 names on the list, and will not give your info to anyone else (so mine is the only spam you’ll get, once a month). Like us on Facebook at North East Georgia Swap Meet For more information, call Brad at (706) 424-5035 2014 Dates August 9 (Second Saturday) September 6 October 4 November 8 (Second Saturday) December 6
