  1. Klaas; Yes, I have specific information regarding this car. Contact me at rtq11@aol.com with your questions. R. Quinn
  2. Please note the correction to the previous post re the engine for sale. The body tag with an EW prefix would indicate the engine listed for sale below is the 354 c.i. Big Six and not the Dictator as previously mentioned. It would interchange with most of the 20's Big Sixes up to the 1928 model GH. Check with seller below to verify. Sorry for any inconvenience. R. Quinn editor: Antique Studebaker Review We have a Studebaker motor from a car that the cowl, front frame, motor and transmission are the only things left. The motor is complete with starter, generator, carburetor(?) distributor. The only ID that could be found was EW-CR 1673 (this is the '27 Commander model EW). This should be saved from the scrap yard, which is it's next stop. It is not something we need or want, but if you do let us know ASAP. The price is $50.00 plus transportation. Possible delivery to the York, or Reedsville, Pa meets. Walter Barnes 2241 Route 45 North Rock Creek, Ohio 44084 or 440-563-3737 or mwbarnes@apk.net
  3. I erred in calling this a EW Dictator. The engine is a 354 c.i. EW Commander It would interchange with most of the Big Sixes from the 20's. Richard Quinn
  4. I received an email from an club member today 9/4/03. Richard Quinn We have a Studebaker motor from a car that the cowl, front frame, motor and transmission are the only things left. 5. I have an original copy or two of the missing volume. You can contact me at rtq11@aol.com Richard Quinn
  6. That is a right rear fender moulding for a 1965 Studebaker Daytona 2dr. Part #1361370.<P>Cordially, R. Quinn
  7. When advertising for parts it would be to your advantage to specify whether you are looking for parts for a 1930 Commander Six<BR>model GJ or a Commander Eight model FD. Though body parts are interchangable many<BR>engine and chassis parts are not. R. Quinn
  8. In order to supply accurate information it would be necessary to know if your car is a<BR>model GL Six or an FC Eight. Also the specific body type. That is, 4 dr sedan with side mounts or without, two dr., Coupe etc. <BR>The body tag number on the firewall would be helpful as well as the serial no. from the left front frame rail. IF YOU ARE NOT A MEMBER OF THE ANTIQUE STUDEBAKER CLUB, WHY NOT??? R. Quinn rtq11aol.com
  9. Studebakers advertising was handled by Roche, Williams and Cunnyngham, a Chicago firm, from 1926 thru the 1950's. The name was later changed to Roche, Williams and Cleary. Further info available from:<BR><rtq11@aol.com><P>Incidentially, why do you ask??<P>R. Quinn
  10. Don't know why this is posted in the Studebaker section but in any event it sounds like you have a Dodge hood ornament.<BR>They used the DODGE RAM symbol for many years. The hood ornament is likely from the late '40's or '50's.
  11. I believe you have provided an incorrect body tag i.d. Believe the designation is Q-1 not O-1. In any event it could not be a 5 passenger since Studebaker did not make such a car. I might have suggested you try putting 5 people in that seat (assuming it has a seat) and seeing if they fit comfortably!?<P>Hope you decide to restore it.<P>Richard Quinn<BR>editor: Antique Studebaker Review
  12. You can find the Avanti Co. website at <A HREF="http://www.avantimotors.com/" TARGET=_blank>http://www.avantimotors.com/</A> <BR>Take a look for yourself and ask them about the SUV.<P>R. Quinn
  13. A total of 8,248 Presidents were built in the 1939 model year. Of this number 7,028 were four door sedans. Only 280 of this number were equipped with dual sidemounts. Besides the one I own I know of two others in existence. Send your email address and I can provide other data as required. <BR>Richard Quinn editor: Antique Studebaker Review email me at: rtq11@aol.com
  14. I have the parts you need but two questions.<P>1.) Are you a member of the Antique Studebaker Club?<P>2.) Is your car original or a street rod?<P>Richard Quinn<BR>rtq11@aol.com
  15. There is no single source for all your parts requirements. You are dealing with a 60 year old car whose parent company has been out of business for nearly 40 years so you will not be able to order through a catalog. I have owned at least 6 1940 Champions and looked for some parts for 30 years!! <BR> <BR>I have remanufactured the hub caps and they run $225 for a set of 4. They are unconditionally guaranteed for appearance, authenticity and fit. Also have misc. other parts but don't ask for a list. Have far too much stuff and far too little time to be making out lists. You can respond to me directly at rtq11@aol.com <P>You really should belong to the Antique Studebaker Club so you can network with other owners. At $23 per year you will get a lot more than you pay for. <P>Richard Quinn
  16. The fenders are identical except for the mounting holes for the grilles. You can use the '40 fenders and simply drill the holes as they are in your '39's or if you can wish you can use 1940 grilles (if you can find them). Good luck. Richard Quinn
  17. The mascot you describe is for a 1936 thru 1940 Studebaker J or K series truck. This particular mascot is being reproduced. If you require further information let me know.<BR>R. Quinn
