About how much does a Model A engine block weigh? I'm going to pick one up with a friend this week and need to know what I'm getting into. Thanks! Steve

Have a guy here in KCMO area who needs following: hood, grill, drivers side headlight doors. You can post your reply here or easier yet, just call him at 816-356-9951, Steve Krull. Thanks guys!

I have a '65 Riviera promo or kit car that has what I think is a unique decal applied to the roof. It says, "GS Gran Sport Rally 1965 Chicago Auto Show."
Being a '65 Buick nut I've often wondered what this event or display was all about. I even tracked down a '65 Chicago Auto show program specifically to try and find out more about this. There was nothing mentioned in the program about it. I have a large box full of '65 Buick literature and again I have no information about this. If anyone can shed some light on what they know about this display or any info about it please post it here. Thanks much! See the scan of the decal attached.

Guys,
I have a piece of used rocker panel panel moulding I want to identify before I put it on ebay. I held it up to a ?53 Roadmaster Sedan 72R and its about 4 inches longer which makes its 83 ½ inches. The ?53-72R rocker moulding is about 79 5/8 inches. I?m pretty sure it will fit a 1952 or 53 but I don?t know which model? Did the Roadmaster or Super Estate Wagons for ?52 or ?53 have longer mouldings? Can anyone reading this forum check for me? These items tend to sell easier if they are identified with specific years and models. Thanks to all in advance! Steve

Does anyone know who bought this car?

Only problem is this garage "fit" my collection 15 years ago when I had three cars and was renting three separate garages. Now I have 4 in there plus two rented spaces for other cars and rent has gone up! And, I still want more cars... An incurable "disease."

Okay, I'm going to try it again.

Brian,
Thanks for posting the photos. The three of the Wildcat right before the 64 Annual report I don't think I have but let me check my box of 65 literature first. I'm familiar with the GM photostore and have a few from there including the 65 Electra fordor hdtp. Attached is a photo taken today of my three 65's.
I brought my Riv home from storage after about 2 years. Its nice to have all three here at home in-a-row.

Okay Brian, now you've got me drooling for those oddball '65 photos...

Brian,
I love that glossy of the 65. I have the real car in Sahara Mist. In fact, I have three 65's. Kind of an obsession with me. Do you have any more unusual 65 factory photos like this one and would you consider emailing me some hi-res copies?
Thanks,
Steve

There should be a fuse that screws into the threaded part on the male end of the back of the lighter. Then the hot wire plugs into the fuse. I don't think they make these fuses anymore unless you happen to have one. If you don't I think you could squeeze the female end of your hot wire a little and push it on the back of the lighter and use it that way.

I found in doing a house clean-up I have a lot of Bugles that need to be in binders. Seems I remember that they aren't available anymore and I can't find a recent ad for them in the Bugle. Does anyone still have the larger size available to buy or anyone have any for sale? I could probably use 5 of them.
Thanks!

The originals are not serated. Don't know if its a good idea to use serated bolts on the soft aluminum housing of a water pump. McMaster doesn't go up to 3.5 inches on their regular flange hexhead bolts in steel, oxide or anything.
I will try Lowes and Home Depot just for fun this weekend. Thanks guys!

Thank you both for your replies!

I'm searching for some new water pump flange bolts for my '65 Buick Electra, 401ci engine. The size is 5/16-18 X 3 1/2 inches. I've tried popular chain hardware stores and four of the larger local auto parts houses. Also a place called Fastenal that specializes in this type of thing. No luck. If you have any ideas or experience finding this type of thing I'd appreciate it if you passed it on in this forum. Thanks!

Been to a Fastenal store and called another local outfit that specializes in auto hardware. Noting. Called a regional place, Tractor Supply that has farm and related parts for machinery. Nothing. Have combed the internet at least 4 times in the last two days. Most everything is for Chevy or the flange bolts I found are too short or waaaay too expensive. A number of the big boys on the net are wholesalers only and won't sell to the public. Bout ready to give up and use hex head bolts with a washer. Thanks.

I'm putting a new water pump on my 65 Electra, 401ci. I want to buy some new flange bolts for it. I can't find them. I've been to four local (large) hardware stores and four auto parts stores. The only place I've found them is a place in CA called ARP and they want between $30-$50 for a 5-pack of these bolts which I think is rediculous. The size is 5/16-18 X 3 1/2 inches. Any help is appreciated! THANKS!

I've attached a photo of the only Buick I saw when the Great Race came through the Kansas City area. I don't know if there were more Buicks in the race. Maybe they'd dropped out by that time. I don't know who owned/drove this 55. You might be able to get that info from someone at Great Race HQ. www.greatrace.com

Here?s a link to the book on amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/det...=glance&s=books
And the video: http://www.damonent.com/video.htm
I?m sure I have the book but can?t seem to find it right now so can?t tell you if it covers 1959 and 1961 but I?m almost certain it does.

Brian, I'm a friend of Rich Gibbs and he has a lengthy VHS video about all of the motorama shows I've viewed. I'm certain there is something on it about the 59 show. Not sure about 1961. I also think there is a book about the motoramas.
Its late but I'll write myself a note and see if I have the book. Steve #3194 Life
401 or 425 please help!!

There should be two letters before the numbers on the front part of the engine block. But it really doesn't matter if all you're doing is replacing the carburetor. The Rochester carburetor will fit on both blocks, the 401 or 425.
The only major difference between the 401 and 425 cubic inch engines is the size of the cylinder bore.
