  1. I found this little gem laying on the floor pan, under the carpet on the driver's side. I have yet to remove the seat or the rest of the carpet, although I don't anticipate any other neat discoveries. I plan to tuck it inside the owner's journal with the other paperwork.
  2. Thanks Barney, I'll open up the wire channel and inspect for signs of water intrusion when I get the carpet out.
  3. What started out as poking around trying to diagnose my inop. courtesy lights quickly led to an interior teardown and discovery of several corroded splices under the passenger seat.... oh brother! Now that those are all fixed, here's my question to the guru's: are there more splices underneath the driver seat? Given I'm so close to having the carpet out anyway, this question may be moot as I'll be pulling the seat regardless.
  4. The struts are back in stock on RA, albeit with a "2-day delay". Act fast people.
  5. I ordered a pair as SOON as I read the news FB. If these are the real deal, I'm going to be thrilled.
  6. TL:DR - '91 coupe, Bright Red over Flame Red, CD, no sunroof no 16-way, 94k. Spent 3 years sitting prior to purchase. Price? $800. Pro's: 98% rust free, save the exhaust and a few brackets. 2 week old set of 225/60R16 Kumho LX Platinum's wrapped around OE wheels/center caps. Original owner's manual, save accessories and builder's signature sheet. Professionally installed audio: full set of JL Audio speakers, dual amp setup, etc. No dead cluster segments. Con's: cracked windshield, front bumper tweaked, rear struts gone, AC inop, interior tired but solid, considerable paint work needed. So, what say you? Currently, I'm in it for $1,100 including the new tires. Would the current market support say... a $4k asking price?
  7. First update:Tires! Ordered a set of 225/60R16 Kumho LX Platinum's, what a difference! While I've owned my fair share of "project" cars, I can't recall the last time I purchased a vehicle wearing rubber requiring such immediate attention. Cost per tire was $67 and change each, plus tax, with free shipping to my shop. I mounted and balanced myself.I investigated and cured both the lack of HVAC mode selection and the lack of constant 12v to the radio. The climate control was an easy reconnection of an under hood vacuum line, and the radio was my own fault. I had initially checked the wrong fuse... upon further inspection, the CORRECT fuse was in fact blown. Bonus find: JL Audio speakers front and rear, the fronts being wired from the HU harness back to the trunk, allowing them to be amplified separately. There's also 4ga primary power and ground cable, each split into 2x 8ga feeds along with RCA's and remote turn-on.Final, but perhaps most concerning repair: front bumper. At first glance, it presented as no more than a light smack against a pole. Long story short... I'm thankful the dang thing didn't fall off on the drive home! To paint everyone a picture: 6 of 8 bolts missing, the remaining pair barely threaded. Should that not fulfill "Final Destination" requirements on it's own: said bolts threaded into speed nuts that for SOME reason had been installed backwards, meaning the "cone" side was facing the impact shocks. It took a fair amount of tweaking, but I got everything *mostly* secured, at least until I acquire another bumper.
  8. Thank you for all the information, Barney! I won't have the car in my possession until the 25th, at which time I'll make sure and snap a picture of the RPO sticker. I'm an ASE auto mechanic and a GM fan boy, so hopefully I'll be diving into this project slightly less blind than some. Oh, I did squint again at the photos from the listing, and it does indeed appear that my car has a thin gold pinstripe, so that was my mistake. Not that I'm disappointed, I actually prefer the black trim vs. body color and the gold pinstripe to break up the body line.
  9. Hey all! I happen to be both the proud new owner of this Reatta/a new member. See my intro post here: New owner/member
  10. First and foremost: allow me to thank each and every member for their contributions to this amazing forum! I'm delighted to share with everyone my latest acquisition: a 1991 Bright Red over Flame Red coupe. 93k miles, rust free, parked since at least 2020. VIN# ends with 900298. From what I've read, it seems to be a unique yet standard example. Pin stripe delete, black body molding, CD player. No sunroof or 16-way seats. I don't have any photo's to share just yet, so here's the original Marketplace listing: 1991 Buick Reatta Purchase price? $800. I'll be sure to post a true introduction thread once I get her home.
