  1. I had read somewhere long ago that 1962 was the first year GM put actual mounting holes in the floors for the front seat belts to be installed as a dealer accessory. I’ve owned two 62’ GM cars a Bel Air and my Lesabre and both did in fact have the holes. The rears had dimples in the floor to drill holes for rear belts. Can’t confirm any older than that however.
  2. Anyone out there have an old NAPA MOOG etc parts book that would show the spring specs for the rear springs on a full size Buick? I’d like to replace the rears and possibly find some that would lower it but can’t seem to find the specs. Thanks!
  3. OEM Part Number for the Fob is 25678792 and frequency is 315mhz according to my parts dept guy.
  4. I work at a Chevy Dealer but its still all the same with GM. Send me the VIN ill see what I can find.
  5. LOVE this set up. What lengths did you get for front and rear and how did you install the rears? I have normal lap belts in the front of my 62 but need rear seat belts.
  6. Good to know! Ill check that out this week. Makes me nervous with todays drivers not having a horn lol.
  7. Looking for a place to get replacement horns for my Lesabre. The ones I have just make a short wheezy noise.
  8. Terrible no good, very bad vibration/clunking is GONE! Drives so nice now. Like a Buick should. Still going to replace the transmission crossmember and transmission mount, as the crossmember is damaged and the mount is old and rotted. BUT what a difference that center carrier bearing made wow!
  9. They are still around new. Found one on ebay. Not sure on the shims. Just has two rings on either side of the bearing im guessing to keep dirt/dust out of it.
  10. Looks like I found the culprit of my driveline vibration 😂
  11. Mine is disconnected but still in the dash. I looked around years ago for one and couldnt locate one. I figure some day Ill rip my dash open, remove it and bring it a radiator shop in town to see if they can rebuild it.
  12. This is a photo of my front u joint at the transmission. Looks like it’s an inside snap ring style? So all 4 of mine will be the same correct?
  13. AHHH PERFECT!!! That explains why there are so many listings on part websites. This makes way more sense now. I will remove the drive shaft and examine. I can see the rear pretty well and it looks like its been replaced but the front one looks old and I cant see the center carrier or CV ones.
  14. Hey everyone. Im working through some needed maintenance on the Buick, I replace the motor mounts last week, the ones I had were terribly rotted. Next will be the transmission crossmember and mount. Ive got my sights aimed on the drive shaft next. I ordered a center support bearing and will be replacing all the u-joints. Looking up the correct u joints has been a little troublesome. Are all the u-joints the same for replacement? The parts websites are all over the place in descriptions of what joint for what section of the drive shaft. Mine has a total of 4 u joints, one in the front, two at the CV and one at the rear. Thanks!
