  1. Looking at the post history, it's possible this vehicle was posted by the same user about 10 years ago on this forum. Not sure if he is referring to the same vehicle but the description sounds similar. Apologies if that is not a correct observation.
  2. Thanks Barney. I'll remove the retainer clip and reinstall on the drivers side. Appreciate the picture!
  3. Thank you 2seater. I was concerned they were melted from being super heated or shorted out. Again, everything works as intended on the car. I just don't want to end up with an undiagnosed fire hazard from wiring issues. The black material is sort of sticky...like a tarry substance. And thanks for the compliment on the engine bay.
  4. Thank you Barney. I think I have all three relays that should work to replace the ones necessary. My concern is really the material at the base of the relays (please see picture above). Is this normal? It seems like a tarry substance to me. Could it be caused by the heat from the exhaust beneath or is this a more involved issue? Car runs and drives fine, but I don't want any big surprises if I can avoid it. Has anyone seen this before?
  5. Deferring to the panel of Reatta experts here...I want to replace the 3 relays on the firewall. Current relays are Bosch PN 25525638. I have the replacements (Omron/AC Delco PN 25553347). Before I do that, tell me what you see here. Should I be concerned?
  6. Anyone know where this should go? I found it wedged down in the engine bay, below the brake booster, and under the AC tubing.
  7. Good advice Barney. I may try to find some slightly "off size" 15" Michelins for it. Just trying to keep it as stock as possible. I'm kind of a purist. Plus, the engineers who designed it to all work together likely know better than me! 😆
  8. Please forgive me in advance if this is a silly question... My mechanical abilities are somewhat limited but I'm trying to learn! Question: are the fuel pump and ABS relays interchangeable? I plan to replace the fuel pump relay on the firewall of my '88, but I purchased 3x, thinking I might replace all 3 at once. The part number is 25553347, made by Omron. (I also picked up an original service manual to help, but I think the knowledge on this forum is better!)
  9. That is a reasonable suggestion. Maybe I will look into that. Would any other characteristics change of the driving dynamics and would you receive a deduction from the BCA points scale as a result of non OEM sizing? I'm not planning to drive the Reatta like a race car any time soon, because it's not one 😆. Any input is appreciated!
  10. Has anyone recently purchased Michelin tires in the original 215/65/15 size for a Reatta? I can't seem to find any, and would prefer to put them on my car if possible. Let me know if you have a source. Thanks!
  11. Thank you all. I have reached out to Jim, he is checking his stock of items for me. I appreciate your help and guidance!
  12. Thank you, and I have reached out to Jim regarding this. As an aside, thus far, this forum has been very friendly and helpful. It's great to have support and assistance from fellow hobbyists that know where to find things and who to contact. I really appreciate it as a new Reatta owner and longtime car enthusiast. It makes the process more fun and easier to navigate!
  13. Thanks Barney! Ironically, the R emblem on my driver's side floor mat is off. I have it, but not sure how its affixed (I had guessed maybe ironed on, but unsure) If you have one in red, I'm interested in that. Would probably take 2, as I'm sure the other side will eventually come off. Let me know. Thanks!
  14. Anyone have a source for this item? Please let me know. Thanks!
  15. Thank you all for your responses. Yes, the rubber is very hard and brittle, and not properly formed at this point to fill the "negative space" between the taillight assembly and the quarter panel. I would like to find a suitable replacement for both sides in some original format. I'll try contacting Mr. Finn and see what he might say. Thanks again!
  16. Does anyone know where I can find the rubber gasket that surrounds the taillight assembly in the 88 Reatta? It's most visible where the taillight meets the rear quarter panel. Thanks in advance for your help!
  17. Hi! Does anyone have a source for the "Reatta" sticker/emblem that's on the drivers side sill plate? Mine is missing. (Sill plate is present and in good shape). Would consider NOS or excellent used. Thanks for your help!
  18. Thanks again Barney. How can I contact you to proceed with the rebuild kit?
  19. Thanks Barney! I forgot to mention, I noticed the manual adjustment turns very freely as if there is limited resistance in it. Is that due to the failure of the rollers or the motor itself? Also, if I were to acquire your kit, does it contain the bell crank? (I had read those fail) Again, I'm no expert in this field. Appreciate your help!
  20. I recently purchased a fairly low mileage 1988 Reatta. Love the car, starting to determine what is within my limited mechanical abilities and what's not. Cosmetically, the car is very good. Mechanically overall, seems to be solid and well maintained. The first issue I would like to address seems to be a common problem. The passengers side headlight was working fine, then started to flutter and fail to open. My plan is to purchase a rebuilt complete motor assembly from East Coast Reatta Parts. My question is...how difficult is the motor to remove and reinstall? I would rate my mechanical ability a 3 or 4 on a scale of 1 to 10. Thanks for your help in advance!
