Wanted: Right rear quarter trim (1988)
ArcticWhite88 replied to ArcticWhite88's topic in Buick Reatta
That's a reasonable idea. Was hopeful someone might have one sitting in a box somewhere on a shelf! -
Does anyone have a right rear quarter trim piece in black for a 1988 Reatta? Mine had been moving around, finally took it off the car, and the channels on the back of the rubber piece are disintegrated. NOS would be best, would consider excellent used! Thank you!

For Sale: 1991 Black and Flame Red Coupe 56,200 miles $5,300
ArcticWhite88 replied to B Jake Moran's topic in Buick Reatta
The car doesn't look all THAT bad...it certainly needs a strong cleaning and some light restoration. It is curious that its black over flame red with what appears to be a gold pinstripe. Would be interesting to see the trunk parts tag on this car and the VIN. And the aftermarket radio has to go, but that's just my opinion. 😊 -
The individual in this video has a distinct hatred for Reattas! Might be nice cars, but I guess we will never know.

This I'm not sure about. Have looked at those as well. Physically they look similar. Anyone try these later model struts out on an older application? Does someone out there have one new Monroe 71801 that might be available so this car can get back on the road? I'm really trying to avoid modifying something else in order to get this done.

Thanks dship. Yes, I have seen some of that on the Reatta side. I have neither the mechanical acumen nor resources to trust my abilities in putting a project like that together unfortunately. I wish I did! Seems crazy that with several GM vehicles with similar struts and likely thousands still on the road in some capacity that zero parts are available for a wear item such as this but I guess this is just how it is now.

From memory, I believe I saw this car for sale illustrated as a factory concept convertible. If that's the case, there are likely some differences between this and a standard production Riviera. If it is the same car, it may have been part of the GM Heritage Alliance collection and had single digit miles. Again, this is from memory and looking at the photo in the post.

Great question. Since it's the rear air strut, I'm guessing the "redi-strut" is the way to go.

The Monroe replacement is 71801 I believe. If anyone has a pair...I would buy them. I am not a machinist nor a professional mechanic so a "plug and play" solution would be best. Thank you!

Hello: after searching high and low, I am currently unable to locate any source for rear struts for my 1991 Riviera. Does anyone have an idea or maybe have a couple they would be willing to sell? I also have a Reatta (different rear strut configuration) and those are unavailable as well! Not good news. If anyone has an idea or something else that would work, let me know. Would prefer an OEM or high quality equivalent. Thanks!

Purely my opinion, in a non judgemental way. This sounds like a reasonably desirable vehicle as a 1991, with decent but not collector miles at 94k. Interesting color combination providing you like red/red (pretty cool), and it has been modified with the audio system (negative in my opinion, but I'm a purist). The real negative here is the windshield and the seemingly unobtanioum rear struts. Based on all of this, and needing paint, I think $4k is optimistic. But...as with any car (or anything), it's worth what someone is willing to pay for it.

Sounds like something you may be able to source pre-owned from Jim Finn in Minnesota.

Where to buy Headlight Door Parts for 90 Reatta

Barney is correct. He is an excellent resource for headlight parts as well. My apologies to you sir for forgetting to mention that. I may have wrongly assumed this was a request for the actual door assembly. -
Where to buy Headlight Door Parts for 90 Reatta
ArcticWhite88 replied to halleyB's topic in Buick Reatta
Hello: depending on what exactly you're looking for, either Jim Finn or Marck Barker would be a good place to start. -
Number for 75k car disconnected. Back to the drawing board!

Car with 144k is sold FYI
-
That is really too bad...such a nice car to let go to waste like that! Thanks for letting me know anyway!
-
Thank you Barney. I did see the one with higher miles in the newsletter yesterday. I'll check these out. Much appreciated!

I have some interest in a polo green 1991 Reatta. If you know of one, or own one that is for sale, let me know. Looking for a cosmetically excellent, good mechanical condition car. Appreciate your help!

Agreed. It would not be a driver. A trailer queen or a museum piece as stated. Beautiful example for that purpose, not much else unfortunately. -

Pure conjecture: $35-$40k. -
I believe it was dark enough...I'm going to try to cover the photocell area to see if I can get them to come on. Appreciate all the advice here! Several good ideas to go after.
