Ray, do you want it diagonally measured or from one end to the other? One I started looking at it I do see the blind tapped threads. Rod -
1928 115 Inch Buick Standard-Wanted - Visor bracket
Rod Miles replied to Rod Miles's topic in Buick - Pre War
I'll take a look at doing so. When I first saw the offset I also noticed two holes on the top that had not been drilled through, maybe this was a factory deal, make the choice and drill. Thanks for the idea. I assumed they were pot metal and hadn't considered altering. Rod -

In the process of re-building my 1928 Standard Buick Country Club Coupe, I have two right hand side brackets that hold the visor from the pillar. Anyone have a spare left side one? If so I can buy it from you or trade for a right-hand side. Thanks, Rod Miles

Thanks, Oregon Desert. Took my time and was able to engage the cable to the speedo and use the mounting flat clip. All appears fine. -
Speedo question-1928 Standard 115" Country Club Coupe
Rod Miles replied to Rod Miles's topic in Buick - Pre War
I do have that flat clip and nut to secure it to the speedo. I'll take it all out and try again. Thanks for the in-put, Oregon Desert. I'm in Eugene by the way. Rod -
In re-building my 28 Buick Standard, I'm assembling much of the car that had been previously dis-assembled by the previous owner. Question on the speedometer connection... Is there an adaptor that connects the speedometer outlet, round, to the drive cable which is square? Been looking through my spare parts and see nothing. Thanks! Rod Miles Member 48784

I'm in need of the light switch handle located on the steering wheel center. The center insert has been broken/compromised. I also need the ignition on/off handle located on the steering post. If you have one of or both of these items let me know to buy. Thanks, Rod Miles Member 48784

Is there a resource for purchasing a current limit switch to fit a 1928 Standard? (located on the inside of the firewall) The one I've got is in rough shape and I'd like to have a clear, rust free one for better conductivity. Thanks! Rod Miles

1928 115 inch Buick Standard-What did I miss?
Rod Miles replied to Rod Miles's topic in Buick - Pre War
Thanks to you both. I will double check my brakes. Rod -
Have finished the re-build of my Buick Standard 1928 Coupe. Ready to put in the fluids and see if it will fire-up. However, I noticed while on jacks the wheels were locked in, almost like it's in gear. Verified I was in neutral, same thing. Dis-connected the drive line and the same results. What did I miss in re-assembly, why might the rear-end bind-up? Thanks, Rod Miles

I'm looking to purchase the bracket that holds the Choke and carb heater handles and faceplate in place. This bracket mounts behind the dash. Thanks, Rod Miles 48784

Floyd, I'm interested if you in fact went to a completely different carburetor? I"m interested in parts from your old one? If you want to keep all I understand. However, there is a small arm that links the metering pin to the throttle, I can see it attached to the pin in your second photo above the thumb. Are you interested in selling such parts? Thanks, Rod Miles Buick Member 48784

Good morning, Hugh. Thanks to the article you forwarded myself on crankshaft and cam gear timing I now have the engine lower half together. My next question, when I place the flywheel on the crank, cylinder one top dead center, it lines-up perfectly with the flywheel marking "1-6" in the inspection hole. It does not line-up with the marking "Adv. 17" as per your article. Does this mean I have in-correctly set the cam/crank gears for timing? Thanks, Rod Miles -
Recently purchased 1928 Buick Roadster 28-24
Rod Miles replied to Mick Szoka's topic in Buick - Pre War
Hi, Mick. I am the owner of a 28 Buick 115 inch Standard Country Club Coupe. Are you willing to sell some of the parts or only as a group at this point? Reason, I have some needs on specific engine parts but understand if you want them to go only as a group. Thanks, Rod Miles, Member 49784 -
